  1. Congratulations on the award, she's looking stellar. Well deserved!
  2. sounds like it.. will it stay idling or eventually start to stumble and die, coming to a quick stop and dying and or a quick turn.
  3. If hydraulic tappets? Did you adjust the valve lash? I've seen it done wrong and give similar symptoms. Not that it's your case, though I agree it may be firing order related.
  4. Great job! Cool chilling with the cup. Thanks for sharing.
  5. If memory serves me right, one of the things that I did to my daily driver (Betsy) was to upgrade on the size of wire, from what I believe was a 10AWG to a 6AWG, the wire that goes from the junction block near the battery to the junction on the fusible link near the voltage regulator, talk about changing the problem all together. I used to have issues with dimming lights when stepping on the brakes, and noticeable on the headlights as well as the dash-lights. It also fixed intermittent starting issues I used to have with it, I believe the engineers at GM had a brain fart along that junction. Not that it needs a 6 gauge wire, but it surely fixed everything in doing so. I never tried an #8 I just went for overkill from the get-go.
  6. Great video! Although your co-pilot was sleeping on the job.
  7. In order to complete the circuit the field circuit must go through a resistor. This lowers current output, points close, output increases, points open, output down, points close, and so on. You could say it's the monitor in the system. That's my take, voltage regulator theory I'm sure is much more complicated than that.
  8. Are you maybe talking about the RFI capacitor? or known also as a condenser?
  9. Testing the Alternator A test we call the Full Field Test involves applying battery voltage to the alternator field terminal. Start with the engine off. Disconnect the alternator field wire coming from the regulator. Attach a voltmeter to the positive output terminal of the alternator. It should read battery voltage. Prepare a short wire with a terminal on one end which will connect to the alternator field wire. Strip the other end of the wire about 13mm leaving it uninsulated. Do not let the bare end touch anything. Start the engine and increase it RPM to about 1200. Expect some sparks at the end of the next step. Momentarily touch the bare end of the wire to the positive output of the alternator. A good alternator will charge at maximum rate. Battery voltage will rise, and the engine RPM will decrease due to the load.
  10. All I can say is you got a beauty. For us that have seen this car in person pictures don't even do it justice. It is an elegant car and well done, I'm jealous Aron,, I'm not even going to get into the semantics, you must have something on Vaughn, for him to part with it.
  11. It sounds like a missing ground.. remember that just because you have the grounding wires hooked up, it doesn't mean you have a solid ground. Your ground should be carried and bonded from a solid ground. Do you have that? A continuity test light is a good tool to use, to check that.
  12. Murray, nice work it looks great. I like the idea and the cleaner look to the cluster overall.
  13. Exposure and 50.00 an hour and a boat load of coffee, what more could you want? Except maybe some eye candy.
  14. How cool is that. Make us proud.. And if you happen to have a line or two, break a leg.
  15. Ebay..$89.00 the parts place? maybe amazon with prime?
  16. it's readily available just about any auto parts outlet. 35587 Four seasons blower motor.. most are re-boxed and made by unimotor.
  17. Nice article! That right there can put a smile on anyone's face...
  18. Great pictures.. Tony. Now the hood has to be near perfect, cause you'll be looking down it all the time, any lil flaw and you'll be kicking yourself in the behind for not paying more attention on it.
  19. Nice! That baby is gleaming. Love the color choice.
  20. That's awful.. Just doesn't look quite right. More like an eyesore if you will. Yikes!
  21. Best wishes my friend, you're in our thoughts and prayers.
  22. Not a bad idea IMO!! I wonder why the General didn't think of it.
  23. Funny thing about water it'll find its way down hill and through the smallest of cracks. I would get inside the vehicle on a warm and sunny day and have someone run a (water) hose right above the windshield. I am pretty confident that you'll find that your windshield is probably the culprit.
