  1. Sorry I can't help you but just wanted to chime in with how fantastic it looks and compliment you on your progress!!!! Now, I don't want to rush you but the factory could take a frame like that and turn it into a complete sellable car in a day. No pressure. rob
  2. But when can we expect to see him as a member? Capri would have shown her stalker abilities by swimming out and giving them a club business card, did you?..... On another note. We were at a birthday party and across the alley there was a car under a car cover. I told my son it was a first gen Monte under that car cover. He said "how can you tell". I told him that I knew by the way the cover hugged the rear fender extensions. Awhile later the owner came out and my son asked him what year Monte was under the cover and he replied 1970 and asked how we knew it was a Monte and my son told him what I had said.... He was impressed. I have been able to do that more than once. (And yes, I have informed them of the club. rob
  3. Never heard of that either. rob
  4. Very nice Aaron. Thanks for sharing, I know how much work it takes to not only put that video together but also run such a successful meet. Thanks for all of your work!!! rob
  5. With friends like that........ who needs enemies it sux what you have been through rob
  6. Impressive, very nice rob
  7. Yes, nobody wants that award but when someone gets that award EVERYONE wants to know how they earned it. rob
  8. It seems this post has been hijacked so to that I say!!!! CONGRATS TO THE WINNERS!!!! I think Jared said his mom or grandmother took a lot of good pictures of the awards. I know in the posted agenda Jared posted a time the members pictures would be taken with their cars so I suspect he has those pictures. It is normal to get pictures of all of the members with and without their cars, not only so the pictures can be placed on the award plaques but also so they can be posted here. Yes, Jared posted many pictures on fb so I suspect he will be posting them here very soon. After All, all of us know here at the First Generation Monte Carlo Club "No Pictures Here Means It Didn't Happen", Right???? rob

    Why???

You know guys, I did apologize in advance so it can't be my meds because, up front, I did know it wasn't going to be my best effort. Bear with me, us "shut-ins" don't get very good material lounging around restricted to our bed or recliner. I am sure, once I become more mobile I will get better material. rob

    Why???

    Why does a Chicken Coupe have two doors??? - - - - - - - - - - WAIT FOR IT - - - - - - - - BECAUSE: If it had four doors it would be a sedan Sorry in advance for that one rob
  11. Hi Chris, my 70 is an original "Two Tone" painted car. The main body color is Astro Blue and the roof is Classic White. The term Two Tone is what you have and on your body tag it will be identified under "PNT" with two numbers. A Viny roof car would be identified as a number and a letter and a non option car (a car with the body and roof painted the same color) would have either a single number under the "PNT" or more commonly would have two of the same paint code numbers. Since both a Vinyl Roof and a Two-Tone items are options available on First Gen Monte's, yours would be referred to as a Two-Tone car rather than a "Vinyl Delete" car. The term "DELETE" would be used when a factory ordered car that is customer requested with something that is standard equipment is ordered as a deleted item. An example of this would be a Monte ordered without any radio. Since an AM radio was standard equipment a "Radio Delet" would be ordered and there would be a filler plate where the radio would have been to cover the three holes since there was no such thing as a non-radio dash panel. I hope this makes sense. It is always great to see another original Two-Tone car in the club, it is a rare option. rob
  12. That is odd. I know when I bought mine it came with some instructions for proper programing but I don't remember it covering anything like you are describing. rob
  13. Do you mean one of the two blades work or one of the two motors. If only one blade works that would be a bad transmission linkage.rob
  14. Could be either a bad ground or bad socket or any connections along the way. I would start with the ground. The turn signal assembly picks up it's ground from attaching to the bumper and from the bumper it transfers through the housing to the lamp socket base. rob
  15. I don't know if they used anything originally or not. Like ERT said, you could make your own from some gasket material. My worry would be they may retain water if it gets in there and be a bre3ding ground for rust to form. rob
  16. Rick, glad it helped. I got my new wiper motor & pump assembly from Advance Auto. The first one I got from them didn't work but the second one was good. rob
  17. I agree with Sam, not only are you starting with a set of heads you know the history on but on top of that you will know the quality of the parts going into the rebuild. The final positive is you can know the reputation of the shop doing the rebuild work on the heads. rob
  18. I will move it for you. Right now it looks like a restoration. rob
  19. Unplug connector from the motor and replace the fuse again and turn the switch on again. If the fuse blows without the motor connector disconnected you have a short in the wiring someplace, if it doesn't blow it is more than likely a bad/shorted motor.
  20. I think you are referring to the dust shields. I am sure they are available bit a quick check didn't find them. I will keep looking rob
  21. If I am not mistaken, the PH1 caps were the ones in your center picture. I, personally, call them either the "Plain Jane" or "Classic" caps. I feel they look very classy on our First Gen Monte's. They were available on I think all three years on our Monte's. The PH3 color keyed caps were an option and available all three years and on all Monte Trim packages. Rally Wheels were available on all three years as an option. rob
  22. Congratulations to you Mark!!! Anyone who has seen Mark'scar knows it is a well deserved award. Hope to see Mark snd Michael in Carlisle next year. rob
  23. Very Nice pictures, thanks for sharing. Definitely some beautiful scenery. rob
