  1. And Just Who is this MR. Peters you speak of??????? Rob
  2. Hopefully on track to be home Friday for some long term home recovery. The slightest activity exhausts me. I have a lot of strength building ahead but can't wait ti see the real light of day and smell the outside air. It is amazing what you can find as special when you are vegging out stuck in a hospital bed. As before, my thanks go out to everyone for their many thoughts and prayers. It has been said here many times how people in the club have gotten comfort from others prayers and I can't express enough how much it has meant and what it continues to mean to me. Without friendship life can be very hollow. It is not just the friendships we have here it is that plus the feeling of this place being an extended family. Rob
  3. Yesterday was an up and down and then back up type of day. While it started out with some nausiua and dry heaves that quickly cleared and I was able to eat my breakfast, or lat least most of it. They had to give me two units of blood yesterday and the first one went without incident but about 20 minutes into the second unit(It takes about 3 hours to infuse one pint) I started to have a reaction to that blood. My fever jumped up and I had body chills so bad I shook uncontrollably for an hour and a half. This totally exhauste me but they got the shakes to subside and the rest of the evening went without incident. I feel a bit better today. My doc's were in this morning and over the past 3 days my kidney functions blood test numbers have looked MUCH better and it is possible I will not need any more dialisis. This will be one of my prayers answered. I don't know how people stay on dialisis for extended periods of time. I know a number of people who have had to but never experiencing this for my self I had no idea what it takes out of you. As of right now the dialisis access port is still sticking out the side of my neck and very ugly and if it is decided I won't need any more they can remove this port. Just a few notes: The Kidney stone that brought me into the hospital in the first place is still in there and I need to discuss the plan of attack on that. I have a stint still installed to enlarge the opening into my bladder to allow the stone to pass but that can't stay in To be able to be released I need Physical Therapy to assist me in learning how to tackle steps so I can go home. That's all for now, I am getting tired and need a nap. Rob
  4. Everyone, First and foremost I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. While there have been set backs, the main one is an infection they are trying isolate because it is spiking my temperature as high as 101.6 and when I have a fever it affects my entire body with aches. I can tell you the first couple days were very touch and go and I was close enough that a priest was called to pray over me. Our priest was in a couple days ago (we live clear the other side of town from the hospital I am in). I mentioned to Fr. Jim that while we are not a religous based club, our club is made up of many different religons and than many of my weekly prayers are dedicated to members of our club and their families and that I believe these prayers from the club and others from or church have helped me get this far and will continue to carry me to get me home. Thank your all so much, I can't express how much not only your prayers have meant but how much your thoughts have also meant. Please keep them coming. I will try to not make it a week before I update you again, some days I am just so exhausted and can't even face the laptop. Rob
  5. Gitty up Gitty up 409..... But no Monte's anywhere to be seen. Rob
  6. I think I still have one for the rear but not for the front. I just have to try to remember where I put it but I don't have one for the front. Rob
  7. Both the statement from Jake and Darren are correct. While the VIN number will not tell you what engine was in your car from the factory it will tell you if the one in it was the correct engine for that car. Some cars engine is coded within the VIN number as to which one it had from the factory. You can, as Darren suggested compare the engine block stamping, on the pad he talks about, and compare it to your number car's VIN and they should match to a point. This was will tell you if it is the right engine (from the factory) but not what size if the numbers don't match. Rob
  8. The pump will also squeal if the fluid level is too low.
  9. Someone had posted that same ad here on the site about a month ago. I had never seen it before that but I remember it because I even commented on the scarf the young lady was wearing.
  10. That is odd.... It lists Power Steering as an option... I thought it was standard on the Monte. Rob
  11. His screen name is: 71ss454 * (Larry) His name is Larry Ray and he is a machinest in the Chicago Area His Email Is: vmrmachining@aol.com Rob I just noticed this became my 10,000st post
  12. It has been a long time since I have done this but I think all you would have to do is disconnect both of the lines at the heater core and use a nipple and clamps to join the two lines together. There may be a simpler way but without looking under the hood I could not offer up anything else right now. rob
  13. Very Impressive. Can't wait to see the finished product. Rob
  14. Al, This link may help. You can also access it from our home page under Technical Information: http://firstgenerationmontecarlo.com/tech/ss454.shtml Rob
  15. If that happened to me I would have to slit my wrists.... this is my daily fix and without it I would go off the deep end. Rob
  16. Boy would I like to have that Orange Flame Convertible Malibu now. Chaching, Chaching. rob
  17. Tony..... that was so mean..... Funny yes but very mean. Rob
  18. I think Metro moulded makes about the best weather strippng product out there. I don't think you will find anything any closer to OEM on the market. Rob
  19. I think it is more how much work that goes into a piece than how much of the Chrome will show in the end. I can see where a grille would be a ton of work. That said, for everything he has being chromed it sounds like a very good price. Rob
  20. SWEET, really very SSSWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTT Rob
  21. WOW, that really did make a huge difference. Great Job. Rob
  22. Those are some REALLY SSSWWWWWEEEEEEEEETTTTTT pictures. Some really great scenery out there in the west. Rob
  23. Welcome to the FGMCC site and I agree with others, a neat novelty but not real desireable. Does the dash have an automatic tranny selector indicator. If it does I would say it is a car that someone was starting to change over to a standard. Rob
  24. Capri, What a lovely note from Glenda. Thank you so much for handling this. Ronnie was such a great person and when I look at a picture of him from one of the meets it just refuses to sink in that he is no longer with us. God Bless you Ronnie, our prayers are with you and your family. Rob
