  1. Looking like it's coming down to either a late May Event in Rockingham NC at the NMCA race and show Or Somerset KY 4th weekend of May or July (Can't do June Somerset's event because its the same weekend as Carlisle mini meet) Speak up on your thoughts
  2. I will be speaking with somernites cruise this week and the NMCA guy is checking to see if their is any events in the area and time frame next year. IMO unless bowling green discovers an event that will work, Somerset is looking like the best option and they seem eager to work with us. Also KY has advantages on location for the OH MI IN crowd and even people towards the Midwest and still just 300 miles for me.
  3. That reminded me we had the meet in Charlotte in 2009 at an NMCA event I just reached out to them to see what their schedule is next year, beech bend on ky would make my day lol
  4. I have reached out to Somernites Cruise to get updated info.
  5. So... there will be NO Chevy Show in 2023 at Bristol Dragway, confirmed today by Donny. The Elizabethton show, the car club that puts it on is not willing to block us an area for our 25-35 cars. (Also confirmed by Donny and we both agree, huge deal breaker). Stupid on their part. So I'm putting the 411 out on does anyone know of other events that would be suitable in the Southern VA TN NC area. I've checked with Bowling Green dragstrip (beech bend) but they as of now don't have an event that would meet our criteria of a meet, it's an Amazing facility. Somerset KY like 2014 is an option but it's Still a one day cruise in (I THINK). I'm confident in my ability to come up with other activities along with the Help of Donny but some people actually want to "show" their car.
  6. This could be the mid west meet everyone wants just need to urge the attendees to join the FGMCC
  7. 864 940 2146 With any questions or comments or advice
  8. The Bristol meet unless the Dragstrip gets their act together fast on scheduling will be in conjunction with the Downtown Elizabethton TN show. But along with that there are plenty of activities and several cruise Ins on Thursday and Friday. We will have activities on Wednesday also. Last year most only went to the Chevy Show one day on Saturday. The wildcard is if someone points me in the direction of another show in the TN NC southern VA area that will work. None of our driving was over 45 min one way. It's all in the immediate area and beautiful scenery. Donnie deserves a lot of credit for the 2021 meet success since he lives right there.
  9. That's not a Chevrolet grille or any sort I recognize
  10. This was an opportunity I couldn't pass up! Pretty much all Original it does have some upgrades already like front disc brakes. Besides a 57 belair growing up this was always my next favorite until I discovered Flat Top 59 Impalas. I actually was leaning towards a Flat Top 59 Cadillac once i found one but they are priced very similar to this one in similar condition. I never thought I'd sell a Monte, buy a 59 caddie and have plenty $ left over. Ghostbusters sure didn't hurt these cars at all either. Already ordered a SC version of the ECTO 1 plate 😆
  11. Very nice. You scored on this one when you sent me these pictures that day Thanks for the kind words
  12. This came off the car I just sold that was low miles, I installed a 4 spoke, Looks like brand new. Asking $350
  13. The repro wheels are wrong grain. Hub and buttons are ok repro. If you interested I have all versions right now. I think 1 mint 4 spoke, several 3 spokes in excellent condition and even a near perfect hard plastic version for 71 72. I like the 4 spokes especially in 71 72 and the 3 spoke in 70
  14. Rear aftermarket bumpers are like finding a girlfriend at 30, might land a good one but most likely it's crooked 🤣
  15. This is a bittersweet sight. But this is what I do for a living, restoring cars, so my name is on this car forever no matter who owns it, knowing I built a car from the ground up off the frame in my backyard and it's going to Mecum, this is a big deal. I thought about it myself but as well as it done at the local auction, after all the expenses and fees I would have to have gotten significantly more. This guy will too, he's in it for 57,750 before any fees at Mecum plus selling fees. https://www.mecum.com/lots/SC0522-502394/1970-chevrolet-monte-carlo-ss/
  16. The other is been available for a while but like the AMD one NOT in stock more than in stock lately
  17. I just bought one yesterday parked in 2007. Funny seeing cars already classic, parked in the late 2000s lol
  18. Yea and the wait time getting one rebuilt. That same company does rebuilds also
  19. The best aftermarket I'd the one I have in my car it looks identical to the original but it's like over $600
  20. I don't have any specific to a 70 that I'll get rid of. All mine are 71 72.
