  1. My GF loves the Grinch, in fact, she got me those slippers, as well as a few other things along the way.

Welcome Peter! Does that also have a 'CUSTOM' emblem on the sail panel? It doesn't have the usual bullet style rear view mirror, but it could have been changed along the way. BTW, you've found the best place in the world for first gen Montes. Anything you need, don't hesitate to ask, everyone here is always more than willing to help. Also, Thank you for becoming a dues-paying member, we really appreciate your support! Joe T.

Nope, a simple one finger wave 😄
  4. I was never much of a NASCAR fan, but remember watching Petty always win when I was a kid. Certainly has come a long way from the back roads, running bootleg booze from the police days.

He's my hero. Ruins it by growing a heart at the end though...

That's the Grinch. He's been there around 11 years now. (there's actually one of my Grinch slippers there in the bottom left of that picture too) Hard to see in the pics, but his fingers are saying that Glen is " Number One" 🖕😁🖕

The one on the right is still not a big fan of the puppy, but stayed there long enough for a picture.
  8. Yeah, scuff them up with a Scotchbright & spray 'em. email sent, call me
  9. I have a set of BMR 2" lowering springs that were in my Custom when I got it. I took some measurements before & after I put factory springs back in it, close to 1 3/4" drop from what I remember . Part number SP015RB, for sale fairly cheap if you're interested.
  10. My 76 Malibu Classic with 305 had a blue engine. Some google searches suggest 77 was the start, but another said mid-76 as well. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c3-general/3274312-orange-blue-engine-block.html#post1583945136
  11. I used the Valvoline red grease too. The dark gray, moly fortified grease is listed for Ford applications, but probably good for anything else as well. Their full synthetic is probably good too, but it doesn't list any manufacturer specs. They do say it's their best grease.
  12. Both cars are in this thread. Lot of pics, and a lot of side tracking, but that tends to happen here a lot. I have a bunch of actual photographs of the engines as they came from the crate (back in the late 80's, complete with the black paint, 'Special Parts Notice' sticker on the valve cover, the XAA engine code, and the installations. I haven't converted those pics to digital yet, on the long list of things to do before I die. https://www.firstgenmc.com/forums/index.php?/topic/19368-new-guy-here/#comments
  13. Here's what the factory did (I picked '72, but they should be the same?):
  14. Looks good, thanks for sharing the info! I bought 2 of the crate LS-6, part# 366250 engines back in the day. One is in my current '72 Custom, the other highly modified one now lives in my 69 Z/28.
  15. My first 72 Custom was an Arlington build. 350 2bbl/T350, buckets, console, A/C. I still have the build sheet for that one.
  16. Doug, I found another Custom on FB, for sale. It's a little rough, but has the build sheet & cowl tag shown. Van Nuys built. VIN as I'm able to piece it together: 1H57U2L 518321
  17. Do these help? https://www.firstgenmc.com/forums/index.php?/membership/joinpage/ https://www.firstgenmc.com/forums/index.php?/membership/renew/
  18. Yes, much better than the factory style metal clips.
  19. Started drinking early today, eh? Guessing the CPD doesn't drug test employees either?
  20. Not as much as the other places, as well as ease of parking said trailers. Other places can easily just pull straight up and take 2 spots, or back trailer into the grass like we do at Syracuse. As far as location, worst case they're 25 miles away. The ones I looked at were sort of a sweet spot of location & parking, and better quality rooms/facility. I pulled it up with 'street view', (drag the little google guy to the street), not ideal, at least for me.. All I see are maybe the spaces with the longer yellow lines, rest are straight up parking, up to the buildings.
  21. I'm not so concerned about the $11/night discount, or the small town warm feeling at all. I had initially found 5 hotels closer (9-13 miles from event), with much better trailer parking options. Leaving my trailer at the track isn't something I'm really interested in. Listed in the order I was considering: 1) Fairfield/Quality Inn, 2) Hampton Inn. Both in Sandusky 3) Country Inn & Suites, 4) Hampton Inn, and 5) Holiday Inn Express, These three in Milan Doubtful I'll be going at this point, but if any members are interested, I can pass the contact info of the hotels along. Bellevue: Not a whole lot of space there, especially with a Mexican restaurant right in the middle of the lot. A few of the ones I was looking into, as far as parking, location, etc:
  22. Which hotel? If it's the Bellevue Hotel as someone just messaged me, there's no place to park trailers from the aerial views of the facility that I can see. I had a list of hotels I was going to call/investigate, that one's not on my list for that reason.
