    Sooo slow

So far, after the tweaks Ian did earlier today, the pages seem to load a lot faster, and less error faults. There are a bunch of members logged in right now, and it still seems pretty good. Fingers crossed...

Thank you! Realistically, I put in about an hour of actual work today. Spent more time putting stuff away & cruising the internet wasting time instead. (as you saw with the stupid texts/memes you & Glen got today 🤣) LOL, Thanks Rob!

Good thing I hooked up the cherry picker. Removal was a lot easier, because the front suspension was completely removed at the time. I was going to try installing it myself, before my buddies came over, but no way it would have worked. Even with the rigging, it was still a puzzle to get it over the suspension and around the cowl with 3 of us. It took a few different attempts at sliding it in there different ways, and certainly would have ended in disaster if we didn't have the crane taking most of the awkward weight. Removing one of the inner fender wells was the next option, but not high on the list of things I wanted to do.

Moving along slowly, but hope to get it looking like a car again at some point soon. Tied up a bunch of loose ends recently. Had the gas tank in and out multiple times for a bad sending unit signal. Had to pull the tank apart because Aeromotive doesn't have any to send as a warranty replacement. They did send new gaskets, screws & seals pretty quickly though. Still not amused though. Loaded up the base tune, set the fuel pressure, synced the electronic distributor, ran the heater hoses (with Gates shrink wrap hose clamps as usual), put the seats inside, played with the Dakota Digital displays a bit more, & numerous other details. Tried to get as much done while I have open access, but know there will be a bunch of other things to tie up after it's together.
  6. I'm sure you see a lot of that code's other description at work every day. 🤪

    It's pretty bad today/this evening.
  8. Very valid points in general for an EFI conversion. But... Larry has had this system in place for a while, running with no issues. The sputtering, whacky readings on the handheld display, and hard restart possibly point to other issues (at least to me, unless the fuel level in the tank was pretty low in all those instances).
  9. How long & how many miles have you had the Sniper system Larry? I tend to pass over the majority of Sniper related posts on the Holley forum, but they do have some common failure problems. Grounding is one of them & bad Coolant Temperature Sensors (CTS) ring a bell too. With that system, there are alternate sensors than the Holley one, I seem to recall. If it comes down to that, I think I have some info saved, or just go to their Sniper forum and search CTS. May be worth a trip over there anyways, you may find out a lot of useful info and troubleshooting tips.
  10. You might want to hook a meter up and see how much current it's drawing. Would be a little more accurate & easier to compare with others than 'wire temperature'.
  11. I usually post them, find them out of order, then go to edit. After that, I'll highlight the pic I want to move, 'Cut' it, then 'Paste' it after (or before) the pic I want it placed. I've tried deleting and reloading them in the attachments section, but it never seems to load in the right order.
  12. The seal should sit flat on the face of the inner fender flange, where the old staples are presently, not folded over the top..
  13. Email me the pics Tom, I'll get them loaded up.
  14. Talked to my buddy this morning. He has to send the Sniper back again after talking to Holley tech. Fuel was pouring out the back two injectors this time. They don't have any units on the shelf to send him, severely backordered they said.
  15. I'm real good at finding people and information..... I rounded up most of the people on our list of lost people, that we served with in Europe back in the 80's to have a reunion. Just found another one last year. They jokingly say I could have another career as a P.I. 😄. You can run, but you can't hide...🧐
  16. Still keep Syracuse on your radar Mark, I don't think you'll be disappointed (I'm sure the other guys will back me up 200% on this one). Leaving the truck/trailer at the fairground is an option, but I think I'd prefer to have it all at the hotel. I guess it depends if they have security at the fairgrounds after hours to keep an eye on things. That doesn't mean stuff can't happen at the hotel either, but not my first choice, especially at a new/unknown venue.
  17. Good to know, thx. We're over 4 hours away though (as we discussed yesterday), likely we'd be staying a couple of days at any rate. Plenty of time to make a few phone calls to some of the hotels on the list for next year. I see they have a Fairfield in Sandusky, same chain as we use in Carlisle. A little farther, but not too bad, I may call there too.
  18. I'm not interested in camping, so that wouldn't apply in my case, but helpful info for others. By 'trailer', I meant car trailer parking at the hotels themselves. The hotels at Carlisle & Syracuse we use had ample & convenient parking for our trucks/car trailers which is an important consideration. I see the hotels you listed are pretty high on the top of the list that Summit Park has on their site. Hopefully someone who has attended the event & stayed at any area hotels can chime in with any details, good or bad about where they stayed. Thanks for the info. Here's their hotel list: https://summitmotorsportspark.blob.core.windows.net/sections/51/7f0a661a-0574-40f3-a6d5-2953601fd71f
  19. So, in preparation for next year, what was the general consensus for the weekend? Did people stay all 3 days, or mainly Friday/Saturday like Carlisle (looks like they have festivities on Sunday, which Carlisle doesn't). Is there a preferred hotel people are using? Does it have good trailer parking? I did see a large list of hotels available on the Motorsports Park website, but it ran the gamut of local, and out to Sandusky & beyond. Group rates available, or something that can be negotiated for next year, like C.K. is trying to do for the Syracuse show?
  20. If you resize the pictures, they should load on the forum. I shrink them about 50% lately and it seems to work. If that don't work, message me and I'll send you my email address, then I'll get them posted for you.
  21. 1) I don't use adhesive on mine. Too much of a pain to clean off down the road. 2) I have had the same problems with the push retainers they include with the weatherstrip. A trim screw would work, but I bought a box of plastic ones that work fine. Got them from my paint supplier locally, but probably available online. (ebay has them in multiple places for around $10-12 with free shipping) 3) I clean & grease the mechanisms when I'm in there. That old grease is 50 years old and typically hard.
