  1. Hopefully it’s the bottom one. Sorry posted twice
  2. Could not find a picture. I must be stoned again. Lol. But I did find a truck version. I also posted a picture of a two piece design the ground up sells. Maybe that’s what he’s looking at. ????
  3. I think I know what he is talking about. Remember on the two piece rotors, the hub had 4 open holes. I’ll try to find a picture. They were one of the first rotor design gm had.
  4. Rob you used the wrong color blue. It doesn’t match my car. Lol.
  5. Ya Greg. What they said. Heck you want me to drive 4 hours to enjoy a hot dog and I’m considering it. Lol.
  6. I don’t know what you’re used to driving but there’s a lot of weight to these cars. For street use don’t expect funny car type of speed. Although you’re on the right path to get the most out of your car. There’s always room for improvement.
  7. Slap a different set of gears in it and haul a.. lol.
  8. Just for kicks I will throw in a picture of myself and Karen. If you want print my out and use it as a dartboard. Lol. Don’t do that to Karen because she will find out and you won’t be happy. She was not happy about me taking a picture of her. We’ve been together almost 20 years and I can probably count on one hand the number of pic’s I have of her. The toolbox in the picture took apart and built about 75 percent of the car. Gotta love old simple cars. Lol.
  9. I guess Willie is twisting my arm here, so I guess I’ll button this thread up. It will never be done and there’s some things that I don’t like and will redo. We call that a learning experience lol ( expensive too). I’m sure I will add to the thread. I actually have never driven a first generation Monte although I grew up in the backseat of a couple. My first Monte was a 77 ( actually I almost bought one on Saturday yep Karen approved lol). So my first drive was really my first. It felt great. I won’t name any names but I want to thank the group for all the help and insight. It was a fun (?) experience. Thanks again. See some of you guys in Carlisle.
  10. Karen did/does help me occasionally. She even gets upset when I’m mad about something. Lol. She really doesn’t care if it even starts. “ Just take something else, we gotta go”.
  11. Ya Greg. To what Rob said 👍👍👍
  12. Ever tried to price a real nice original am/fm. I know you know. 600 ain’t bad considering your getting all the modern technology in an original looking radio.
  13. Ya I was thinking of that today when we were driving to Karen’s brothers house. Yes Karen got her first ride in it today “ it’s nice “. Lol. Car girl she’s not. I’ll take some better pictures and button this up. Not done yet.
  14. Quite possible it was a factory machine to line. If you got there throw them away and buy new.
  15. I don’t know what I did to deserve this kind of abuse. Never mind, yes I do. Carry on.
  16. I’ll say it again. Best 25 bucks I ever spent. Thanks to all our members for making the group what it is.
  17. My 71 still has the original also. When I had them turned I told them to leave the groove. They said the groove was not supposed to be there something caused it. I said your right and the cause was gm. lol. Idiots.
  18. 157 miles driven total so far. I got my first bug. Happy day. Something finally paid the price for my bad car building days. Lol. My first “ breakdown” too. My shift cable came apart ( I shifted with the collar to get home) the metal sleeve pulled out of the end of the cable. So much for Shiftworks “ better design”.
  19. Any bare metal is subject to rust, obviously. Why don’t you just rattle can primer/paint and give it a light coat?
  20. Actually one post above his original post. Lol.
  21. I used the auveco 8400’s and aftermarket molding. No issues. Put the clips on the molding first, line up the molding front to back then slide the clips to match the holes and pop on about 1/2 the depth of the clip then go to the next one and do 1/2 then go back to the first one and pop it on completely. Step by step 1 1/2 at a time. Careful not to ding the molding as said it thinner then oe.
  22. Old trusty and reliable. It’s a proven combination
