  1. If I had to choose between the two I’d use the oil pan with an oversized block of wood. DON’T use the balancer. Preferably use the hooks on the engine.
  2. Great history. Great story. Welcome and thanks for the great read.
  3. Still got room for grandma on the roof rack so it’s all good.
  4. Be careful with the rubber wheel. If you hit a hard spot or trim rivit you may take a chunk out of the wheel.
  5. Possibly nothing. The t-stat housing was used for many different applications so your car may not have a use for it. It is not used on my 71. Hopefully someone else will chime in with a better answer.
  6. Frank is correct. Here’s a copy of my invoice with the phone number Keep in mind this was a year and a half ago so things may have changed
  7. I think you can still get him. I’ll dig out my paperwork later and get the email for you.

I think I’m out of patience. Lol. I debating now if I should put a plow on the front so I can drive it. I knew this was going to be tough. Work that hard and long just to wait for weather. Come On Man.

So I got my salt washing rain. 2.25 inches. 40 degree temp drop last night. They salted the roads for black ice. UGH. I can’t win. lol. I know is still February.
  11. So I guess this means you’re not selling your car? If that’s true, I’m happy for you. To much work already done to just let it go.
  12. I think this will help. Assembly manual (small block)and a picture of mine(1971 big block)
  13. Ya they look great. I would probably have done something like that if it wasn’t a restoration. Now if my 70 Chevelle turns out not to be a true SS then I’ll do some special things to that.
  14. I made some changes but only if they were original gm options. Also a few non gm options. ie retractable seatbelts and such.
  15. Nothing really new on the car front. Headliner guy finally texted me back. Swamped at work bla bla bla we all know that story. I did order the windshield today from the glass guy and the front and rear glass will be installed next Thursday. Weather permitting.
  16. I upgraded my seatbelts to retractable from Morris. Direct bolt in. 20 minutes. Done. You might want to give them a call, they may have an answer for you. Look at the post in the interior section. Morris Concept group purchase. I told them I was from the fgmcc and they basically gave me free shipping ( I think it was a 10 percent discount).
  17. Looks like whom ever did your body work filled the holes. It’s possible that they are just painted closed. Blow the picture up and you will see the holes. If the bezel came with self cutting nuts your going to have a problem because if yours is like mine there are no holes on the inner trunk for the nuts. It requires push locks ( I don’t know exactly what they are called). But you’re going to need them.

    NOT MY CAR!!

Good thing mine is blue. Lol. But if that were to happen I can most certainly guarantee somebody would be black and blue. I know where this is a nice and hard 2x4. Lol.

Snow should be gone by tomorrow (60 degrees) 2 inches of rain coming Thursday to get rid of the salt. I think I see a test drive coming for the Monte. Probably just to the glass shop though. Lol. Spring is coming. Woo Hoo.
  20. Yep. Center it as said. I emblem stud on each side of the grill bar, slide on the bracket and tighten the two nuts. Easy peasy.
  21. I remember this story. It happened to me. Mine was missing one from the factory ( I’m guessing)
  22. Welcome. Good project. I also agree with above posts on the column. But if you’re looking for one for a floor shift it’s going to be a bit more challenging. And more expensive. But you can change the collar on any column.
