  1. PS - I was waaayyyyy off on my 64-67K predicted sales price. Ouch.
  2. Great question. To which I don’t have an inkling of an answer. I’ll have to inquire.
  3. And if you wanna get technical, Joe? Dad kinda slid and rolled. Totally different than crawling 🤣😂
  4. Exactly… He won’t take no for an answer… Hell, he wouldn’t even use his creeper. That’s why he’ll be getting invited for prime rib the next time we go to my favorite supper club.
  5. Ran both cars to my parents house to change the oil because the Old Man (meant with the utmost respect) has every tool under the sun. Not to mention oil and filters for every car in the entire family which he keeps stocked. And like every time I’m there for something he insists on crawling under the car to get his hands dirty. No doubt he misses working on cars regularly. Not to mention it gets him out of the house and away from Mom 🤣. He’s gonna be 84 in July. Check out the ride he just bought himself a few months ago… he’s awesome (even though he didn’t order the Hemi 🤣). Quote: “306 HP is more than enough. Don’t think so? I’ll run and beat BOTH your Monte Carlos”! I know better than to argue…
  6. I can’t stand cheap mother eff’ers. I guarantee I would have word with this stud were I ever to meet him.
  7. Don’t be such a boob. If you’d stay abreast of these things you’d know where to order them. And had you asked such a question in school, it’d surely earn you a couple jugs for not knowing. I could go on for days, but it’s time for me to hit the rack…
  8. I’m not a fan of the chick doing pretty much the identical pose in both pictures. Plus a bikini would’ve garnered a lot more attention. Observe my ‘71…
  9. I’ve got the same set up… ‘70, big block, AC, power windows (I’d think this additional weight wouldn’t be much of a determining factor, if any). I’m the guy who tries to bang round pegs into square holes and routinely uses butter knives to remove screws, so my mechanical knowledge is - shall we say - a tad limited. That said, here’s the front and rear spring codes per my Build Sheet. Plug these (‘GQ’ front, ‘BM’ rear) into the Interweb and see what you find.
  10. Grasshopper, eh? What’s next, Mr. Miyagi? You gonna instruct us on the proper methodology of wax on, “wax” off? I’ll bet you’re a pro at that. I ain’t scared.
  11. Oh I’m here… just exercising the ol’ “pick and choose your battles” approach.
  12. Well done, dude. She looks awesome. Glad to see you back on the boards.
  13. Try one side at a time instead of straddling the hump and hitting it from the middle. Both seats slid forward for as much room, and leverage as possible.
  14. Awesome! Keep the progress pix coming.
  15. Are ya gonna go bone stock internals with the rebuild? Or spice it up some while retaining the stock appearance?
  16. Car is absolutely stunning. Is that right hand mirror toggle a factory option? Never seen or heard of that before. I’m gonna predict it gavels between 64K and 67K (AKA “Tedesco Money”).
  17. Briefly perused that link. And therein discovered this juicy tidbit which clarifies plenty: It's important to note that not all plants were the same when it came to how information was included on these build sheets. Although most of the blocks of data contain the same broadcast code (letters or numbers) for the same item from plant to plant, there are variations. Even the RPO wording in block 107 will vary from plant to plant for the same RPO. So anytime a question is asked about a particular broadcast code, the assembly plant must be taken into consideration. Now all we need to do is teach Dennis how to read so he can reap all the knowledge from these sources. 🤣😂
  18. PS - yes, it kinda pi**ed me off to have such a pristine Build Sheet pulled from my SS that belonged to a different car. Someone on the line tucked the wrong build sheet into the wrong seat. Or someone on the line grabbed seats (both black vinyl buckets) in the wrong sequence. Well at least I have ONE that authenticates the car and all the options are visible for when it’s time to put her back to stock
  19. That’s definitely interesting. Could it be different letters (“tunes”) used by the different assembly plants? Different tunes depending on delivery destinations (altitude)? Here’s another anomaly: look at the differences in our Build Sheets for the engine and trans boxes. We both have ‘70 SS’s - ‘C (R) N’ engine code. But yours also has an ‘8’. Is this to denote it as an 8 cylinder? Then look at your trans box compared to mine. We all know ‘CR’ is the proper code for a ‘70 SS, so what’s with the ‘CSHF’ on your B/S? I’m beginning to think some codes varied, albeit slightly, from plant to plant. Do you have the Protect-O-Plate? If so, how’s it stamped regarding motor and trans? Looks like I may have just reignited the whole Build Sheet decipherin’ debacle. Sorry, Wille 🤣😂
  20. Don’t know why I didn’t think of it earlier, but here’s the build sheet from the car assembled a few after my ‘70 was put together. It’s a 350/300, and true to Lyle’s data deciphering, the Air Cleaner (Box 55) reflects ‘CJ’ and the Engine Tune Label (Box 104) reflects ‘DO’. Feel free to add this to your Build Sheet collection, Lyle.
  21. Being a Van Nuys built car, I’d say your chances of finding a Build Sheet in what appears to be an all original car and interior a definite. The one I have for my ‘70 appears to have been recovered from somewhere other than the back seat (no indication of spring marks). Another build sheet was found in one of the seat backs when I had the interior done last year - only it was for a car assembled 3 vehicles AFTER mine. So keep this location in mind as a possible hiding place. Let us know what you find and more pix when she arrives.
