  1. Different states have their own rules, but In NC a dealer can’t sell a vehicle that’s had emissions equipment removed. At my dealership if we’re appraising a potential trade-in that’s had catalytic converters or diesel particulate filters removed, we take that into consideration in the valuation. We know that we’ll have to replace the missing equipment before we can sell the vehicle.
  2. That’s exactly what I’ve done all afternoon! Not a bad way to spend the afternoon since I can’t be on my feet anyway 😀
  3. I just replaced the hoses on my 71 when the radiator was reworked. I picked up hoses at Advance Auto and no spring in the lower hose either. I reused the spring from my old hose. Even though the hoses were made in China, they were molded and fit perfectly, unlike some I replaced years ago and had to trim.
  4. I noticed Michael’s has a spring in front where the throttle cable mounts, but Mark’s does not. Mine has two springs as well, but I have seen others that don’t. Anyone know if GM built them both ways or if they have just been changed over the years?

    Hello

Welcome Terrence! Very impressive! I’m looking forward to following your progress.
  6. Thanks for sharing Ronald. I’m going to reach out to these guys.
  7. Come on down! The stuff can travel. Where there’s a will, there’s a way!
  8. Yes sir!! I keep my card stash in both Montes so I have them whenever I go to a cruise in.
  9. That car's on my coffie mug and my new FGMCC hat!
  10. Hey Mark, I had the club cards in my pocket. I was trying to make Rob proud, I just never saw the guy.
  11. Try again now. You may have caught it while I was trying to edit the photos, I was trying to get them in order, but you know how that goes. They still didn’t come out the way I liked.
  12. I had a coworker from several years back reach out to me on Facebook. He had moved on to another job, and I had not heard from him in close to 10 years I guess. Anyway, he said he and a friend were putting together a New Years Day cruise in. With temperatures predicted to be close to 70 on New Years I decided to go. The turnout was great. I don’t know the exact numbers, but I would guess over 200 cars easily. I would have taken more pictures, but I banged up my hip pretty good on Christmas Day, so I couldn’t do much walking. His car is the yellow Yenko Chevelle that he just purchased in June of this year. There was a red First Gen there that I’ve never seen, but I could never find the owner.
  13. That’s incredible! What did you use to clean it?
  14. When I was 16 years old and bought my 71 Monte Carlo, the first thing I did was flip the air cleaner lid. That’s the way it stayed until I put a chrome open element filter on it. I learned this from my dad. The family car was a 72 Buick station wagon with a 455. The AC lid was always flipped on it as well. That one really sounded mean when you opened the secondaries.
  15. The 2x4, it’s the gift that keeps on giving!
  16. Nice looking group indeed! Thanks for posting.
  17. Congratulations! It’s a beautiful car with a great history! As others have said, looking forward to more pictures once you have her and start making her your own.
  18. Welcome! Beautiful Monte. 71 is one of my favorite years!
  19. Welcome Scott! Beautiful Monte and I’m loving the four speed. Hoping to see it at one of the meets!

    Cadillac XT4

Glad everyone is okay. I don’t know any specifics on the XT4 either, but I’ll be following. We’re planning to replace my wife’s Audi Q3 with an XT4 next year. I’m looking forward to getting her back in a GM Product. I’m not impressed with the Audi.
  21. That does look good! I didn’t know about the cook book. Is it still available or on line somewhere?
  22. Nice! I think I’ve seen this car before. Does this belong to a member?
  23. I had the pleasure of meeting Bob this past summer when I was in Myrtle Beach. I bought a few small parts from him and we talked about cars for well over an hour. What a great guy!
