  1. Not sure what your budget is but look up a PowerTrax by Richmond. Check out there site I listed below, it might be something you are looking for and xcan handle installing. Mike http://powertrax.com/
  2. Very nice Dan! It looks awesome! Mike
  3. Way to go Mike! It's always satisfying to give some anoying jerk a little lesson to choke on & lighten his pockets to boot. I would have done the same thing as long as the conditions were right & it sounds like they were. Sorry about the tranny though. I say fix the tranny and sucker him into another run so you can recoup your loses.
  4. I have been told 336781 heads are a great set of early oval port iron heads (118cc chamber, 256/114cc ports), and that people are putting out pretty good numbers with them. I have a complete set in excellant shape but shipping would kill you. I pulled them off of my 454 so I could put on Brodix Race Rites. There is 1 other early set that I have been told are decent but I can't remember the casting number. Mike
  5. Man, good catch hopefully you can salvage everything. How are the push rods?
  6. Very nice, what are you running for intake & carb?.
  7. Alan, I basically just did the same build on my now 496 and I went with a Weiand aluminum pump. Upgraded from a Procomp aluminum though they both gave me no issues in cooling the Weiand definately fit much better. The Procomp had to be ground off a little around the timing chain cover to fit properly. Mike
  8. This is the one I have on mine. http://www.jegs.com/i/Proform/778/69502/10002/-1
  9. Sweet, what are the specs on the cam? Mike
  10. Can anyone tell me why I used to be able to copy a web address or link and paste it on my threads here but now I can't? Also, I can't copy a picture/link from Photobucket to use as my signature. I was able to do that in the past but again am unable to so now. If anyone can assist me I would appreciate your help. Thanks, Mike
  11. Thanks Bob, I enjoyed the article!!!
  12. I went to Jegs and purchased one of their 3 2 5/8" cluster and mounted it under the dash. 13. Thanks guys! I kind of figured that the flanges might be a problem though I am hoping that I won't have to grind off too much of them. Also, I was hoping not to have to dimple any of the tubes but it sounds like that is not an option. I thought I read a thread awhile back that someone installed 2" Hooker Comps without any issues but I don't remember if it was a small block. I figure it will take some finagiling to fit them with the BB. Thanks Again, Mike
  14. I was wondering if anyone out there is using 2" Hooker Comp headers with head studs? I have attempted to use a set of used headers (not Hookers), on my 70 BB and the flanges interfere with the studs. I am using ARP studs with Brodix Race-Right heads. The studs aren't too far out from the nuts either. Before I purchase the 2" Hooker Comps I was hoping that someone is running something close and could tell me what interferences you have had if any? Thanks in advance! Mike
  15. I personally saw a 72 Monte with 295X50X15 on the rear and I thought it looked tough. No idea how he did it but if I knew they wouldn't rub I would do it in a heart beat.
  16. Thanks Sam! I did stroke the motor to a 496 but I don't see how that would affect it.
  17. During my rebuild I added a TCI (P/N: 399473) flexplate. Now, after my install the flexplate holes are approximately 1/16" off from the torque converter. Basically, the holes are a little more than 3/4 exposed/lined up but not enough to get a bolt started. Previously, I had a decent flexplate, not as thick, but had no issues with the holes lining up. Anyone ever run into this problem? Thanks, Mike
