  1. Congratulations on your new addition. What is your vision for this Monte ?
  2. You could contact SPC and ask them. If your using factory size and rated springs with the Bilstein shocks you should be fine.
  3. Steve, Thank you for sharing this info. It’s a good location and easy to access with plenty of parking too.
  4. That’s awesome Bruce. Creative recycling at its best !!!
  5. I have never seen an original 1971 Monte come with an MSD box, tach control and Holly carburetor from the factory.
  6. It looks like the show has a good attendance. Sorry there were no First Gen Monte’s there. Nice photos Rob. Thanks for sharing.
  7. Depending on what your doing with your Monte, Bruce posted a great article and Cody a chart for high performance vehicles. Thank you both for sharing this info.
  8. I’m not sure the top in that was from the factory. It looks like an aftermarket vinyl top kit. Dealerships or an aftermarket accessory company used to install them along with sunroofs, moonroofs, simulated convertible tops, landau tops, opera windows, pinstriping etc … Someone already accessorized this Apollo with aftermarket rims, fog lights cut into the grille, and a radio antenna mounted on the driver’s side fender from what I can see in the photo.
  9. I can’t remember his name, but yes he was at Carlisle a few years ago in Building T during the GM Nationals.
  10. That Monte was in Building T at the GM Nationals a few years ago. We spoke and he was saving up to have a new motor built for it at that time. Next he was doing bodywork and paint. It has definitely come a long way from what it was.
  11. You got this Steve. The first time was a practice run. Everyone that saw it at Syracuse thought it looked great. Apparently, you fooled us all. Perfection just takes a little longer. Take your time and you will get the desired results you want. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
  12. Dan, Whichever way decide on will be good. A bit of physical therapy while rowing thru the gears isn’t a bad thing for your knee either.
  13. Welcome !!! A sharp looking Monte too. Photos are always welcomed here.
  14. Great question and answer with documentation. Thank you for sharing this info. Learning something new everyday and loving it !!!
  15. I put Cooper AT3 XLT on my 2018 Ram 2500 CTD 4x4. 285/60/20 E rated tires. Very quiet, nice tread pattern, excellent in the rain, snow and ice. Severe Snow rated with a 60K mile warranty. I am very happy with them.
  16. Check your electrical connections at the starter, (tight and no corrosion) and timing too. Too far retarded or advanced will cause hard starting.

    Hello

Welcome Terrence. You have come to the right place for the First Generation Monte Carlo’s. A great group of people here. We hope you like what you see and become a dues paying member. Nice progress on your numbers matching Monte. Photos are always appreciated.
  18. Nice addition to your Monte Steve !!!
  19. You would probably have to purchase them and try and see how they fit. Most of the big block guys run the Hooker 2455 headers and have the least fitment issues with them.
  20. Have you looked at the Parts Sources on the website? Lots of vendors listed, some give discounts for being a Club member. Due to the ongoing supply chain issue you may have to look at a bunch of vendors to find or track down what you want or need. Since you already tried SS 396 and The Parts Place try some of the others listed.
  21. Jim, Not all of us have the luxury to wear flip flops year round. Once the Highway Dept spreads salt and sand on the roads, it’s officially “Off Season”.
  22. Very nice shirt. Enjoy it !!
