  1. Congratulations on the new SS. If you can't find it in print, there are a bunch of knowledgeable people on the site. It's the best 25.00 a year a Monte owner can spend. Good luck with your Monte

    New guy

Welcome to madness, we like pictures. Keep us posted on the restoration.
  3. Glen. my car has the fiber optic ash tray light. My build sheet shows code U28 ASH TRAY LIGHT. I'm not sure if that helps
  4. Great follow up and writeup on your problem. I'm not good at testing with a multimeter but always learning
  5. Looks great, brand new
  6. The AMK kits are very complete. I used the interior kit and it covered everything I needed, highly recommended.
  7. I went to this company for my speakers. I hope it helps Classic Car Speakers (turnswitch.com)
  8. Jim, you beat me to it. I was looking for a picture too. That should help
  9. Dennis this is a link to the website I told him I would post it on the forum. Marketplace - locally Made Koozie Holders | Facebook
  10. I had this Coozie holder made for my garage/ workshop. I found the guy on facebook here in Illinois. I asked him if he could stamp out the Monte crest. He said it was to complicated but he said he could do the Monte script. It was going to have it powerboat black to match my car but I thought the red stood better. If anyone is interested I can get his info. He also has other designs.
  11. Do you have the compressor? I may have one to sell that might need a rebuild. I haven't had the time to check it out
  12. Are the factory wire harnesses still in the car? The yellow black and grey are a factory radio connector
  13. I don't know that there are parts available for a rebuild. What do you have and what do you need?
  14. Then shrink wrap or bubble wrap the motor until its back in
  15. It's looking good, just in time for spring
  16. I don't need any, but I might pick up a set or two just to have in stock. We have a locator from a high school buddy that works at a dealer if your looking for something
  17. Good for you Dennis. I did run the number and there are dealers that still have inventory.
  18. Thanks Joe, I will have to run the number on the gm locator and see if I can buy a few sets.
  19. In Chicago a guy waited for over 20 hours at a Tesla charging station and then realized it wasn't charging. The EV's are a nice idea but not for me. The ford dealer nearby has a bunch on the lot and nobody wants them. Cadillac is going to be all EV soon, that will be the end of Cadillac.
  20. Nice work, you learn new things here all the time. PS I believe these springs are still available from Chevrolet
  21. John, I remember years ago I had a 71 Corvette with a 350 4 speed that had a high idle. I worked at a Chevrolet dealership in the parts room when I was just starting out. One of our mechanics told me that there was a carbon build up under the intake manifold. I first thought he was pulling my leg because I was young and I won't say stupid, but he insisted. So, I took the intake off the car one weekend, drilled out the plate under the intake and sure enough there was a big chuck of carbon. I pulled the carbon out, screwed the plate back on and put it back together and the car ran perfect. I'm not sure that's what you have going on but maybe someone else can confirm. I hope you figure it out.
  22. Did you pull the distributor? Did you check the timing?
  23. Congratulations, there are only so many of these cars left in the world. It took me along time to find mine and at the time I thought I over paid but in reality I don't ever plan to sell it so I don't care either. Enjoy the ride and post some pictures.
  24. Great idea, I'm going to give it a try.
