  1. Thanks, the 71 has a different solenoid. My carb doesn't have the t looking thing the bracket hooks into. Willie sent a picture of his bracket which looks like the correct mounting for my carb. But the 72 also has a different solenoid. Attached are the pictures of the 70 solenoid and Willie's picture. I have searched high and low for a picture of the 70 mounting.
  2. Does anyone have a picture or diagram to see how the solenoid mounts?? I've looked on the web at many pictures but no luck...
  3. This tire comparison tool is handy to check the different sizes against each other. https://tiresize.com/comparison
  4. Very cool, maybe drive down the street when they turn on the xmas lights
  5. Sorry, I miss read the size. The 255/60 is the closest outside diameter to the original 225/70. I think the 245/60 is the way to go or just put the 225/70 back on the car.
  6. I'm running with 225/70s on stock rallys with no problem. I'm considering 245/60/15 or like Aaron 235/60/15.
  7. I have located the idle speed solenoid I was looking for. Willie has offered to me to send Dan (Overdrive) his bracket from his 72 for Dan to make me a bracket. What we are looking for is a picture from a 70 that still has the idle stop solenoid installed to see how the solenoid is attached to the bracket. Please post pictures if you have them. Thanks Paul
  8. I don't think the Suburban has been released yet
  9. Good luck, how is the new Tahoe? I have a 2021 Suburban on order since March. They look awesome..
  10. Very cool, the prices keep going up which is good for us. Unless you never plan to sell and your kids bury you in it......I would hope one of mine would keep it and love it like I do.

  13. This is copied out of the Chevrolet parts catalog Monte Carlo ................................. 3962323 NOTE 1: It will be necessary to drill holes for attaching bumper pads or bumper guards.
  14. That's the timing light I went with which is great, I can't speak about MSD.
  15. I went with the Monroes from rock auto. Mine came in black
  16. I think I just found the solenoid. I googled the part number and found 2 of them on the Buick Farm website. I decided to buy both of them in case someone here might need one.
  17. Fred, welcome to the club. They are located near me as well as the parts place. I think they both sell AMD bumpers. I would think rechroming yours would be a better way to go. I had one rechromed last year after I hit a deer. I used Try-City plating in Elizabethon Tennessee. They had a quick turn around time a decent price.
  18. Great story, welcome to the club
  19. To many paint or exhaust fumes? Very clever writing.
  20. Yes I guess I read your post wrong, you have a 454. Not sure what the difference would be, maybe different shift points. Maybe someone else can tell us.
  21. It looks like the CD transmission in your car is correct. The CR code fits the Chevelle, Camaro and Nova. 22. There should be a terminal from the HEI distributor for the tach lead.
  23. Does anyone have a idle stop solenoid for a 70. They are the same for both small block and big block. Please let me know if you have one that you are looking to get rid of. 68-70 All, 71 Vega (2BC) (1st design), 71-72 Vega (1 B C ) ......................................... 1114421 1 8.85 SOLENOID, carb. idle co ntrol............................
