    RIP

Between her and Karen Carpenter I could not choose which I liked better both were great and very nice to lay eyes on
  2. The tank came from Holley, sometime it starts up right away and then it will take 1 minute or two before it will restart but when it fires it runs good. My son in-law Jamey is doing some research and I will forward him these ideas. thanks guys
  3. Took our 72 to Sandwich for a car show Saturday in Dekalb IL at the Parts Place INC. Vey nice show with around 150 cars. On the way the car died 3 times and we had to wait a couple of minutes to get it restarted. Started watching the hand held controller and it was jumping around like crazy when ever the car was about to die. Also while we were driving along the engine would stutter and the AFR(I think) reading would jump from around 14 into the 30's. Checked for interference and could not find anything that looked like a problem. On the way home it only died once and that was just as we were about to get on I 80 west of Joliet IL. It did stutter a couple of times on the way home but did run better. On the way up we did travel a lot of interstate and on the way home only about 25 miles of interstate. By bypassing the interstate the trip was only about 45 minutes longer but a heck of a lot more enjoyable without having to keep our eyes on all of the idiots on the road. So now I am undecided on how well I am liking my Sniper, on one hand the performance and economics have improved but now this problem has developed so the jury is out.
  4. I have also heard that Vaseline rubbed into it and left sitting for a while work. Let it sit is a vary warm environment is what I have been told
  5. Anyone in the Chicago area going to the car show at The Parts Place. Glendia and I are driving our 72 up to Sandwich IL Friday afternoon to visit my brother Joe and his wife. Saturday morning we will be driving up to DeKalb the car show. He only lives about 40 minutes from there. Would love to have others joins us
  6. They worked fine until a couple of months ago I think. Since it does not get out in the rain much I cannot really say how long this has been happening. Seems like every year coming home from the Eastern Meet no matter where it is we run into rain. Spraying the terminals with electronic cleaner has seemed to help but only time will tell being a 50 year old car I think it has a mind of its own
  7. Checked all of the plugs at the wiper motor and sprayed the terminals with electric cleaner and they seemed to work a little better. They turned off and on several times and no failures. I bought a rebuilt wiper motor several years ago but the wiring did not match what the car has. I have had so long I do not remember where I got it.
  8. My wipers have been hit and miss since coming home from Carlisle after the Eastern Meet. We ran thru a couple of storms in Ohio and they did not work at first but started working just before we hit the heavy blinding rain. The worked but then came on while driving along, I do not know if I had left the switch on or it came on after hitting a bump. Going out to the garage now to do more investigation just looking for some answers because we are going to The Parts Place Car Show this weekend.
  9. I had a 66 Caddy DeVille Convertible that several of the wires for them power stuff broke and I was able to splice new wires in fir inside the door to inside the cowl. everything worked fine but it was tight specially in the door
  10. I got all of mine from Leo Konick of Konicks Klassics
  11. It runs really good for what I wanted. Nice lope with good street performance. Quinlin Automotive on south Madison Ave in Indianapolis did all of the work on the engine
  12. I do not know the specs but it is an Erson E119813 cam, Erson SL80 roller lifters, 1417-16 comp cam rockers, H345dcp020 hypertech pistons and stock GM 1921485 Small Block pushrods I have no idea what most of this means but just copied it off of my invoice
  13. I am very happy with my Sniper. My gas mileage increased by a third. On our trip to Carlisle we started out at 12MPH on the third tank it increased to 16 MPH. The Sniper is a self learning system and it had to adjust to my engine. My son in-law set it up as they suggested and it ran really good but now it runs fantastic. I have a SMB 350 bored 20 over with flat top pistons, roller cam and lifters, HEI distributor, hooker headers hooked up to 2 1/2” stainless exhaust 700r4 Tranny and Richmond 3:73 positraction
  14. Looks like an old Lincoln grill like the ones that had the suicide doors
  15. I am almost willing to bet there are places out there to get that kit cheaper than OPGI. I have bought some stuff cheaper than OPGI at Summit or JEGS
  16. I love the bolster cushions on my 72 they keep us from sliding around on hard cornering
  17. I cant remember what i had for lunch last week!!! I can't remember what I had for lunch today
  18. I installed some NAPA shocks on the rear of my and they both broke where the lower mounts bolted to the axle. Ordered some from Rock Auto but I forget which brand but I have not had real good luck with NAPA stuff overall but they do stand behind the stuff they sell.
