farmall
Hey there guy. I have an antique white 72 with blue cloth bench seat interior. I plan to switch it to bucket seats and console. I have been wondering, what colors did the consoles come? Did they offer every color that the interior came? Did they have blue, white, etc. consoles or did all cars have black?? Canuck
There were many different colour consoles to match the rest of the interior. Green, blue, covert, sandalwood, black, saddle, etc. You can find any console and just paint it to match.

farmall
Thanks guys. I was told that they only came in black, green and saddle. I had a feeling that that was some bad info. I am going to be on the hunt for a console and some seats. What type of paint would you use to paint the console and seat backs?
Sam (Bones)
you should know to always check here first
farmall
Absolutely Sam. I was looking at a car for sale. The guy had a saddle colored console going with the car. He told me that only 3 colors were available. He just didn't know.
farmall
Also, I have been looking at ads for seats. I was thinking that the release mechanism for the seats was a button on the back of the seat. I have seen some that have a lever on the side. What is correct for the 72 buckets? Anyone have a picture they can send?
Leghome
The lever on the side is to move the seat back and forward the button at the top of the back is to lay the back down. This is the way it is on bucket seats. The bench seat I am not to sure about but think there is a lever a the bottom of the beck to lay the back forward. Jared Richey
69-72 A Body Bucket Seats will work in your Monte. 68 are the same, but do not have headrest, the government mandated headrest in 1969 from what I understand. 68-72 Consoles are all the same. Little difference in the glove box door, some locked some didn't. Some consoles had seatbelt pockets also. You can also look for bucket seats in other GM cars like a Pontiac Grand Prix.
