Crom Cruach
I bought these seals from summit (photo 1) and they don’t seem to match what was on my ‘72 (photo 2). Do they fit like in my photo where I’m holding them in place? (Photo 3). The current ones are smaller and flat but these seem to have to fold over the edge of the inner fender. jft69z
The seal should sit flat on the face of the inner fender flange, where the old staples are presently, not folded over the top..
Dtret
I don’t see anything in photo #2 ? I think they are supposed to be flat on the bottom edge. Dang you Joe. I was waiting for photo to load.
Crom Cruach
My old ones are broken, only the staples are left! but the new ones are much larger , they don’t seem to fit. Should I cut them to fit? Here is what I bought OPGI from summit https://www.summitracing.com/parts/OPG-FSK5067
Dtret
Sure you can. It probably doesn’t pay to send them back anyway.
Rob Peters
Yes, those are the wrong ones but like Dennis said, rather than the cost of shipping them back I would try cutting them down to fit. The pictures from Joe and Dennis should help. Yours almost look like they are plastic but in reality they should be simi-stiff heavy rubber I think around 3/8 inch thick. Here is a link showing the ones from Lutty's Chevy: https://www.luttyschevy.com/search.html#!year%3D1970||make%3DCHEVROLET||model%3DMONTE CARLO||sq%3DINNER FENDER rob
John S
Those seals that you are showing I believe are for steel inner fenders.
Crom Cruach
That makes sense, thanks guys. They are rubber but not thick enough to be stiff. Might work when they are stapled though. It would be nice to keep the road out of the engine bay
