monte70car
jake why the shortie headers for? i would pull the water pump off so you can get the bypass hose easier. so far it looks like its coming along nicely
Shadow Gray SS
That is what the builder of the engine recommended. I told him what was said on here about them, but he wants to try them anyway. We'll see... Both he and the installer prefer these.
FerrariTruck
Looks good...But I would advise to ditch the chrome t-stat...The hose wont fit right on it and they are prone to rust and leak...Get oem GM or similar, trust me..I think alot of the guys here have learned the same thing... By the way, what cam are you running? I think the 770 might be overkill If you dont have a cam that requires that size..
7tonemonte
Jake, I had a post up about 2 months ago with the chrome t-stat! Mine rusted out, and always leaked. I could never get it to stop. Go back to the stock one!! Everyone that replied to my post had the same experience. Everything else looks awesome.....cant wait to see more pics
502ci
That was a fun stage you are at...getting it ready to drop it in... Are those old motor mounts? If so you might want to think about some new ones. Wow, you post some pictures and get a bunch of "do this and do that" comments (me included)... savvarock
That thing looks sweet. It'll look nice when you put the headers on.

Ian
Looking good! Any details on the build? Ian
Shadow Gray SS
The T-stat & valve covers are polished billet aluminum. I don't remember the specs, but I will post them when I get home. I know the build is aimed at 425-450 hp & 500+ TQ.

Shadow Gray SS
We are using Gibbs break-in oil. I also bought some of the additive that I posted about, Motorhead Classic, for the change after.

By the way, what cam are you running? I think the 770 might be overkill If you dont have a cam that requires that size.. I brought this up last night and Kevin asked if you guys ever tried cleaning the inside of your radiator hose with some brake cleaner right before installing it. He says he does this all of the time and it seals everytime. Mine is aluminum, don't have to worry about rust thank goodness. monte70car
i run the accel race wires on my. as for the chrome water neck i have no problem keeping the hose on and it don't leak.
Shadow Gray SS
I also asked about the headers and these are considered 3/4's. They stay tucked in and don't have to worry about dragging them, and the power gain would not be that significant for my use.
