Dtret
Please reeducate me here. Rear upper shock mounting. I seem to remember the bolts have a speed nut slid into the frame slot , but I’m seeing bolts, washers and nuts. Obviously the nuts are a PITA. Which is correct? AMK sells b,n &w and it’s also what was on the 72.
jft69z
Assembly manuals show nuts & bolts. Service manuals show the same. Same on my 72 as well.

cny first gen 71
Yup bolts and nuts. We used to use 5/16x1 inch course thread drop them down through the holes it's much easier than putting the nut on the top.
Dtret
Done. Bolts up, nuts on top. Looks like I will be changing the coil springs again. Do not like the height at all. Pic to follow as I need to do the front shocks yet. Not doing front coils at this time so the rake should be pretty interesting.
Dtret
Not as bad as I thought once I got the front off jack stands. New front coils should balance it out. I’ll clean the new white walls later.
cny first gen 71
Yea bolts up nuts on top is the way they did it from factory but when your working flate rate or commission go the easy way.
Marks71
I think the stance looks fine. Won’t those new coils settle a little anyway?
