That trim and blacked out panel was only used by the factories on the 71 SS454. The long trim is the same as the one on your car, only mounted upside down. The pair of short "hockey sticks" are not available as aftermarket except for a machinist member of this club that makes them out of stainless steel. I've read here that they are excellent quality.

Bob, you beat me by 1 1/2 minutes. smile

Yeah it's rough but it's something to start with I could always have it re-chromed. And yeah I know, I've been pricing side pieces, and I'm either gonna buy them from opgi cause I get 10% off my next purchase or I might try to find or piece an original set together. I'm not sure which direction I'm gonna go with the side trim yet.

I would agree with Sam alittle expensive but he does fantastic work. I know Jared has the middle piece (nos), give him a shout.

I have an NOS one, but over twice the price of a repro. I have a repro on my car and its great quality.

I didn't know you had a real SS 454 Austin, do you have the build sheet or any documentation, you really have something to keep and hold on to.

I'm not gonna say publicly what I paid Larry for my hockey sticks it was A LOT less than what was said, but that was over 2 years ago, I'm sure his price has went up.

Just ordered from the parts place. And yeah I know, it seems like opgi never has anything in stock when I go to order, I'm still waiting everyday for them to get my vinal top trim corners in stock. And yes Jared I actually do have a real SS, I thought it was just a plain monte like the guy told me but when I brought it home it had some ugly buckets and the original back seat painted black. Do I pulled all that out and yes the build sheet was their, when I first saw it I didn't think anything of it because it said Z20. I didn't know anything about a monte Carlo but I liked em, but like 5 days later I read on the Internet that it's an SS option. So I tracked down the original owner who lived in Ada oh. And he gave me the whole story on the car, I still got the buildsheet somewhere in the garage too. And hey, I only paid $1300 for mine

yeah im looking to put all the trim and SS badges back on the car, our original intention was to strip the car, cage it, and turbocharge with spray and make a racecar out of it, but we found something lighter, and better for that. and as far as original SS stuff, the only thing I need is the outside trim pieces, the 454(which i actually know where the original 454 is for my car but the guy wont sell it) and the 12 bolt rear end. but the the original color of the car was antique white, with a black vinal top with sandalwood interior but when I got the car it had 70 black door panels so which is perfect cause I pulled out everything else that was sandalwood and its gonna be replaced with black int. because I am not a fan of that color interior. My 85 camaro had almost that same interior and I pulled it out for black also, and as far a the car I dont think im gonna paint it antique white again, im thinking copper or primer. and no big block either, im more of a built small block chevy guy

Just keep all the documentation, the car will more than bring your $1300 back easily, even if it only has a small block now.

Keep tabs on that 454 that fellow has, you may talk him into selling it. Does your car have any of the original Suspension Leveling stuff still on it?

yeah i got the build sheet in the garage somewhere. and when i got the car it came with a 72 LT1 motor (and yes i ran the numbers its a 330hp LT1) that replaced the 454 after the little brat blew it up in 72 but it has a spun bearing now.

and I'd love for that old man to sell it to me but he hates the fact that 1. I have his first car, and 2. I wont sell it back to him. Even tho he has a 70 chevelle in which my original 454 and 12 bolt are in.....

but as far as the suspension leveling stuff i have the compressor(which im told is bad) and 1 shock protector and im pretty sure the air line is still on the car but not 100% sure, does anybody reproduce these parts?
