  3. AND THE SNOWBALL BEGINS!!!!!! Since mostly everything was removed from inside the engine compartment WE decided to blow everything apart and do it really nice. 🤔 WTH are WE thinking!!!!! Lololol Further forensic investigating shows the she was a low option car. 3bolt small radiator support. The "chunk" missing on the bottom is from the owner before us, he had a twin turbo set up in there. Definitely a very solid 70 was used to build this car. The black you see on the chassis is factory original paint. The radiator support bushings are the originals, front suspension except for the shocks is original. The elephant ears are beyond mint! No cracks and still very pliable! Was told the car was purchased from Michigan. Very rust free car! Originally dark green, taken to bare metal and painted a dark blue, now painted black about 5yrs ago. Now time to strip the firewall and weld up a TON of extra holes, strip the frame and open up the radiator hole.... And everything else! Lolol

  7. Replaced those panels and more on my 71 402 4speed Monte. Shop around. Many places have them for cheaper and quicker shipping. Try the parts place, ground up, koniks etc.

  8. As Joe said on the 1/2 rod for the body alignment. If you don’t have a 1/2 rod a 1/2 in non impact extension out of your toolbox works perfectly. I know you said you measured it but you still may want to check it. The holes looking up from the ground have a little notch cut in them. Both front and rear. That way you know what holes you are looking for.

  9. There are multiple places you can put body shims in place to move the gaps around. Did save or re-use any that may have been in place before you took it apart? There are also a couple of alignment holes in both the frame & body on the left underside of the car, do they line up? One is near the firewall, the other is in front of the rear wheel area, 1/2" rod will work good here.
