I have them and they work great.

Just wrapped up a new stereo project in the 72. Removed the entire interior, installed sound deadening material everywhere along with a layer of self adhesive foam on the floorboards, inner rear wheel wells, trunk divider, firewall and underneath the dash. While I had the interior out, I gave peices that needed to be touched up some of The Parts Place's interior paint along with the new kick panels with 6.5 speaker cutouts. Installed a Retrosound Hermosa stereo, JBL amplifier under the seat, new JBL 6×9 speakers with deluxe mesh package tray in the rear, and Pioneer 6.5 speakers in the front kick panels. Everything went back together nicely and the car sounds great now.

Wanted to make sure I have that metal seat filler that attaches to the arm rest assembly correct....the one I have pictured is the drivers side rear arm rest, is the flat side supposed to be against the side of the car and square tab side against the rear seat? Thanks in advance.

Hi all - given that most modern alternators have internal regulators now what do you do with the external voltage regulators our cars came with? Bypass? Unhook? Leave connected?

Hmmm. I had to shorten the driveshaft on mine by about 1.5 inches. I have a 12 bolt rear end if that makes a difference.

Added boxed rear control arms and a rear sway bar. Car handles really well now.

This is the passenger side mirror that matches the remote chrome mirror on the driver side..does Morris have one that matches the remote one these days?

Arise from the dead ancient thread! Bruce's write up is too good to keep buried... One question, has anyone installed the chrome non remote mirror from The Parts Place? I would imagine that it is the same mirror that Ausley's sells but I had a friend install the one from The Parts Place and it didn't look as level as Bruce's mirror. Maybe it was an installation error, but I wanted to check before drilling holes in my door!

I put in a 2004R from a '86 Monte SS in my 72. Paired it up with a 3:31 rear gear (my car is a cruiser and low highway RPM's were my goal). At 70 mph my car cruises around 2100 RPMS. A 3:42 or a 3:55 would work good with a 2004r as well. And by the way if anyone incorrectly tells you that a 2004R can't handle a lot of horsepower, show them this video. Here in the Charlotte, NC region we have gotten nearly 40 inches of rain from September to today. The most in 140 years! Currently it has rained for 6 straight days with more on the way tomorrow. Enough already!

I remember getting off the plane when my company sent me to Duluth Minnesota (Duluth Airport still had those roll up stairs to the plane) and it was -33 degrees there and thinking to myself "why was this land settled? Who in their right mind say's nah, I'm good you guys keep heading south I'm staying." LOL Must have been a bunch of Vikings.

Looks great Aaron! Quick tip on those wheel cylinders- WC37024 Raybestos is the part number you need in case you don't have them already. I only say this because some of the box stores sell two types of brake cylinders for these cars. One type has a much flatter surface and seal whereas the other has more of a domed surface. Our cars call for the flat surface/seal type of wheel cylinder. I just went through all of this on my '72 so I thought I'd throw that out there!

I recently bought a set of those Race Ramps wheel cribs and ramps. Those things are great, light weight and sturdy.

My 72 came with 71 grille and trunk emblems. Highly doubt the original owner swaped them due to their condition when I bought the car 20+ years ago.

My '85 MCSS' speedo goes up to 85. 😆

That is ridiculously dangerous and they ought to know better.

Do yourself a favor and spend the money on one of these proportioning valve block off tools before you bleed your system. It locks the valve in place where it cannot trip on you. They made those things to where if they trip on the front you can reset them, but if they trip to the rear drums you are screwed and have to buy a new valve.

Finished the total rebuild of my brake system this weekend. New hoses (all 3) calipers, cylinders, shoes, pad and proportioning valve. The entire system was packed with some nasty red mud looking material due to moisture getting in the system. Thankfully the stainless steel lines weren't clogged. Car brakes like a dream now. Finally getting to cruise around with the new 2004r/3:31 12 bolt Moser axle Eaton True Trac setup. Man, this car is funner than ever to drive now!

Been busy, had the 350 turbo swapped for a 2004r, swapped the rear gear for a 3:55 with an Eaton Trutrac posi unit, yanked the poly bushings out of the front end and put Moog rubber bushings and ball joints in its place. Car drives like a dream now.
