  1. if you are more street then strip, i would stay with the hydro. the solid roller needs more maintenance and it is harder on the valve train components. i run an ultadyne cam that is close to the last lunati spec you posted (286) with the irons heads last year the car went 11.20's. this year with the procomp heads just like yours, i'm expecting to be in the high 10's. hope that helps your chosing. thanh
  2. Ray. small world indeed. our shop is in south glastonbury, Bristol cruise still going strong, did you ever go to the cruise at the mcdonald in glastonbury? the mnfd is a rec. port open plenum. one of these day i'll have to try it out. thanh
  3. love that engine bay, sweet, clean and simple.
  4. i have their rec port heads on my engine. i changed their springs to the ones that matched my cam. had the heads gone through at a local machine shop to check for any potential problem. so far so good. thanh
  5. very sad, prayers going out to Ronnie and his family.

    TROUBLE

Mike they are comp cam. they been in the motor for 9-10 years. over 200 passes on them and a lot of street time. so it was time. the cam is back at ultradyne getting re-lobes. new lifters on their way. hopefully put everything back in a few weeks. just curious what you used for the thrust plate and bearing? thanh

    TROUBLE

Mike. that's a bummer. i feel your pain because after i got my aluminum heads on my engine. 2 of my SR lifters gave up and took out 2 lobes on my cam. glad you caught it before it got worst. thanh
  10. i bought mine when they first came out with them, at least 6-7 years ago. could be a different production runs, also like Jared said- could be the hood spear. thanh
  11. thanks. around here to ceramic coat the headers inside and out normally is around $250.00. summit racing has the same ones i have for $375.00 ceramic coated last time i looked on their site. thanh
  12. thanks they are pro comp heads with my hardwares, will be spraying 100 shot for now, hope to be in the 10's on motor only though.
  13. WOW. knocking on 9's door. you da man Davey. thanh
  14. well finally got some work done on the monte. some pics of the work. alumium heads installed. Headers Got powered coated. Installed: now if it would warm up so i can take a test drive thanh
  15. Arsin- thanks didn't mean to get everybody depress about the receipts just meant that i know how much was spent on the monte and the camaro, i could have retired from the amount spent. thanh
  16. i don't even keep receipt anymore unless it has a warranty, it is too depressing. thanh
  17. i would start with the exhaust and headers, make it dual so the engine can breath, then the carb and intake, no point putting carb & intake if the engine can't breath. i would go with a 2 1/2" pipe from header to tail pipe. thanh
  18. well, did the hot lash on the motor at 30. let engine cooled overnight and remeasure lash. it was at 25-26 so the crane cam page was pretty close. i run aluminum comp roller rockers for reference, hope some one can use this info. thanh
  19. thanks for the info page. will be working on the motor this weekend. i'll post how close those figures are on that page. thanh
  20. this question is for you guys running aluminum heads and solid roller cam. my cam spec a .030 valve lash hot. i did it cold to get the engine running. on the iron heads the valve lash cold and hot were only a few thousands different. so i usally set them at .028 and forget about them, how much of a different does aluminum makes and which way does it go- make the lash tighter or looser. thanks. thanh
  21. Steve, i'm sure you already know, in case you didn't or forgot, you will need longer head bolts/ stud. and longer pushrods. thanh
