  1. Just to add to Rob's response, they now make the skirt mounting brackets and hardware new.
  2. Good question. I have at least 5 pairs.
  3. Hey Chris. The orange lens is for the 70 El Camino. Like Rob said, the 70 Monte should be clear with a metal ornament in the middle. I have used a "chrome" type spray. I believe Eastwood has a paint for this application that was used.
  4. Welcome welcome! Nice stable mates it has!
  5. A stock th400 shallow pan takes 12qts with stock converter. With a deep pan, 14qts with stock converter. I always add 4qts before starting car. Once started add a total of 10 qts (6 more) and start checking the level from there. All depends on the converter size you use.
  6. Ahhhh. Lol. You then can get spacers to raise your air cleaner like Leghome said. I got some of those also but went with the new repo assy. I think I got an assortment of spacers, plastic from summit I believe. You could also mark where the float level adjusting nuts hit your air cleaner and drill/hole saw a hole for clearance. The triangles I refer to are at the front of the aircleaner that I thought were interfering with the Holley air horn/choke. They hold the air filter assy onto the Rochester carb so the air horn stays facing the direction needed.
  7. Yes, you can cut/ bend the two little triangles that center the original aircleaner on the Rochester carb. Or you can find a filter housing that works for you. On my 70 SS I purchased the repo of the 70 SS Camaro dual snorkel air cleaner with painted lid. It also can be purchased with a chrome lid.
  8. Welcome to the club!! Looks like a great start for a father and sons project!
  9. cny first gen 71- that was the easiest job we did today. All the bolts came out except for one that needed a little persuasion. About 45min tops. 1970mcss- it is supposed to be Nevada silver with a black vynal top. Had a repaint many years ago with a slightly bluer tint to the silver. Rob Peters- we are still up in the air about going with the virus still going strong and possibly worse with all the unmasked protests. We are watching though.... Hopefully...
  10. Helloooo everyone! Update time. Lolol As some of you know, my son now has his own 71 Monte that we did a bunch of stuff to. Well it's done, for now. Now it's "Barn Finds" turn. We installed rally wheels with bfg tires that were in stock from my brothers 71 SS. Changed the valve cover gaskets with ones from my 70 SS build. Installed the F41 upper and lower control arms and sway bar that we installed new bushings into. Then we finally tackled the exhaust system that also was "in stock" from a parts car with the GM exhaust tips that have been "in the family" for at least 20 yrs and are weathered accordingly.
  11. Lol. Doesn't NY have child labor laws??? Lololol Serious though, nice job they did and I hear ya about not fitting back there.
  12. Looks good! Like how you did it. Let is know how it works.
  13. To add to what Mike said, the upper grille mount, aka tie bar is different. It's notched for the turn signals. The radiator support itself differs in that it has 2 holes cut into it for the turn signal socket/ wires to pass through.
  14. Ok. Finally got the engine sorted out. It had the incorrect rocker arms on it and 2 pushrods were gouged out the guide plates from intake bolts being too long. He also decided to install front drilled and slotted rotors with matching brake pads from power stop. It has a Pete Jackson gear drive in it. (not by us) so it sounds like it needs power steering fluid. Lolol for some reason the video will not upload.
  15. GM code 10. Artic/fleet white I believe is the whitest, brightest white gm made.
  16. Hey Mike. Sounds and looks like an Oldsmobile "12 bolt" Pontiac mainly relied on the 10 bolt. The only 12 bolts used in Pontiacs from the factory were the Chevy 12 bolts used only in the 71-72 HO 455 GTOs.
  17. Sorry to say, WE have alot of "in stock" parts n stuff in stock. Lolol Too many years of doing this stuff. Lolol. Buying, selling, and the best.... Trading. Good luck with your friends "in stock" parts. 😁
  18. A little fancier than the one we used (had it "in stock") but yes, it is like it. I like the way the return springs are incorporated into it. Ez pz.
  19. Looks great! You have done alot of work. Can't wait to see more pics of your progress.
  20. Highly unlikely it's the gauge itself.
  21. I actually purchased it from ausleys Chevelle parts. The one from the Parts Place, ground up etc are the same.
  22. The mirror sold to match the drivers remote mirror is not remote and it does match. The lower gasket matches as best as possible. You have to match one that gets the mirror in the best position for you. Here is a pic of the "thick" mirror that matches my "thick" drivers remote on my 70 SS...
  23. Hey John. The shifters in our fleet all have the short style bolt bolting the shifter to the floor. Main thing is all the floor shifter cars we have, have the carpet under the console is cut out/ missing from the factory. The shifter is bolted directly to the floor. You can reuse the bolts you have. The only issue is if the long ones interfered with something like the driveshaft, which it obviously did not.
