  1. That plastic 'thingy' bent just fine on all of the clips on my trim without breaking. If you don't put it like in the picture I posted, the clip will rotate & pop out eventually. That tail is there to prevent it from turning. I used genuine Auveco clips though, can't attest to the quality of aftermarket or ebay clips.
  2. We'll just take a closer look at Carlisle, 🤣
  3. Yeah, that happens. Still, the major drama is over. Hell, remember I had to pull my motor back out because the freeze plugs had rotted from the inside? Or I how I ended up pulling all the brakes off to add the 4 wheel disc brakes after it was running, and that included removing the driver side header for the 3rd time to do it? Today's probably the 3rd time I've put the Tremec in the Z/28 to test fit the shifter location. Today at least it's to measure for a driveshaft (plus just a little more shifter hole clearance).
  4. Came out great buddy! Glad the hard part is over, now you can hopefully enjoy it and create better memories with Karen in the car, than the misery of all the hurdles it put you through during the build.
  5. Right next to it is a spot for 'Inst LPS'.......lamps.
  6. I'm pretty sure that the protection for the headlights is a thermal limiter (circuit breaker) in the headlight switch itself. No separate fuses or relays.
  7. That's exactly what I have done numerous times in the past. If the groove is wide, I'll look for one of the thicker o-rings, but sometimes they're too thick to the point it won't slide into the other fitting. If it's too thin, it won't seal, lol. I have more than enough kits here that I can usually find something to work good though. Good luck!
  8. Best bet is to contact one of the A/C places like Original Air Group, Vintage Auto Air, Classic Auto Air, etc. That, or a local auto A/C specialist if you have any in your area. I have a boatload of o-ring kits from various A/C jobs over the years, but to pinpoint the exact one you need would be difficult without having the parts in front of me. NAPA sells the A/C O-ring service kits, and are bound to have one in there you need.
  9. The current rotors out there don't seem to have that groove. They're the same rotors for a 69 Camaro though & the ones I took off my car recently had the groove in them. I did replace them when I initially built the car in the late 80's, I think they were Bendix at the time.
  10. Where does the 'Grade' come from? Is it something subjective based on opinion or educated guess? When I was trying to decide what gear sets to run in my Z/28 recently, I found a few online calculators & also spreadsheets. I was replacing a Doug Nash 5 speed, with a Tremec TKX 5 speed. The car already has 3.08 gears in the back to accommodate the DN 3.27 first gear, so I was trying to go thru the 3 available TKX options to avoid having to swap out the rear gears. (The tremec has a couple different 5th gear O.D. choices, where the DN was 1.0:1). I also added my Monte with the 4L85E & 4.11 rear as a comparison. The spreadsheet below was the most helpful as it allows you to input tire sizes, rear gear ratios, transmission gear ratios, etc to get engine rpm & road speed numbers. It's pretty easy to tailor & label for your needs. There are a couple of different transmission choices already input, & the last few were extra from the original template I downloaded. Like I said, it's pretty easy to tailor it to your own personal needs, or I could do it if someone lists all the transmission, rear gear ratios & tire sizes that may be used. Hit the 'Transmission Comparison' tab on the bottom to see the different choices. The Krider was of the most value to me at the time, but the other one I found first & it wasn't bad either, until I found that one. 11. From what I saw while searching last night, it looked like it had the same gear ratios as a T400. May need to research a little more to verify.
  12. I was hesitant to reply, because what I have isn't exactly what you were asking, but here goes. My Camaro has (had) a Doug Nash 5 speed trans. I put a 3.08 rear gear in it because the DN trans used a 1:1 ratio for 5 gear. Where they made it up was with a pretty stiff first gear of 3.27. It drove great, especially with the 454, plenty of torque. Most of the time, first gear wasn't even needed, to the point I could start off in second gear easily. Where this becomes important, is the DN second gear is 2.13:1. That, with the 3.08 rear gears was a very drivable combination, especially if you're steering more towards highway driving vs. absolute off the line acceleration. A turbo 400 has a first gear of 2.43, so that's a bit more in your favor than the DNE second gear as far as off the line. 3.08 or 3.27, either one would work for you here with the 454, but it basically comes down to what works best for you. I realize it's not an exact comparison that you were looking for, but still data that may help you decide.
  13. Glad all went well with the surgery, hope for a quick recovery!
  14. Like the old saying..."if it has t*ts or tires, it's gonna give you trouble".
  15. I'm using the android phone now til they string a new cable tomorrow, but I've always preferred the PC/laptop to the phone for internet. Like you said Dennis, a big difference.

I just told someone at work the other day that hot tub has ruined me, lol. Plenty of times I'll jump in it instead of working on the car, and just sit there and think of all the things I should be doing instead.

You got it worse than we did. It actually didn't amount to a whole lot in the end, 2-4 inches maybe in spots. I was up at 6 AM, shoveled and snow blowed a little bit. Wasn't even worth pulling the truck out, the sun will melt the rest I figure.

I just had to shovel 2" of snow off the hot tub to get in it. That's from a couple hours of snow & it's supposed to keep going to around 6 AM. Needless to say, not going back in the shop now. Damned hot tub is ruining me 🤣.

At least with the dvr, I can rewind the show back to the spots I fell asleep at. Glad you got to drive the car today. Sounds like you're getting the same storm system as us, it's getting old... Clocks change tomorrow night, at least we're getting closer. Supposed to be in the 60's by mid-week.... goofy weather.

Funny stuff, lol. Luckily, I put a HD antenna in the shop attic a few years ago and ran it into the house as well. I tied it into the living room tv this afternoon. Only problem will be I have to stay awake tonight to watch my shows on CBS (no DVR to record them). Snowing like hell already, I'll be moving snow around tomorrow too. Not happy.
  21. No doubt there Scott. It pretty much comes down to this though:
