I meant to add this. If it’s an early production car 223 could be August of 70. Using 71 production numbers. But I do find it odd that an August rearend would still be around for a January built car. -

Radio would be am 8 track. No fm. The a/c represent the shift in which the rearend was built. 1st(a) 3rd(c). Luckily for you they just grabbed the wrong rear. It’s still a 3:31 non- posi buffalo built on the 223 day of 71. I think it’s just a gm blunder. -

Yep got it. Actually two of them. Lol. Had three and gave one two a friend. Also gave him one of the mastercool flaring kit. Good friend. Before the company I work for got bought out they were actually a “real “ parts store that had good tools and products. Now it’s a profit margin thing. They don’t have this stuff anymore.

I got one neighbor that don’t even realize they own 5 acres, they have never been back in the wooded area. The other is finally catching on and started to clean up years worth of dead. They were all mad( to put it kindly) when I cleaned my 5 acres , now I think they understand why I did it. Took almost two years of cleaning and burning. -
I agree with what was said. Quality tools and materials are key if you decide to do it yourself. These are the products that I have used with great results. I got lucky on my 71 and didn’t have to use them ( originals were all perfect, love California cars). The 37 degree flares don’t come in the kit, I purchased separately, but you probably won’t need them.

That’s what I did Saturday. Did a controlled burn also. Only 4 acres to go. Ya. -

I think a lot has to do with what you grew up with. For most, not all. There’s a lot of great vehicles out there that aren’t bow ties. To each there own and I’m ok with it. I grew up with Montes. My dad had a 71,73,76,80 and 84. Mom had a 76. My first was a 77. I’m so bow tie loyal that I won’t even get a GMC. Lol. And they make a better truck, option wise.

Power disconnected. Take a needle nose plier and stick it in the lighter hole, squeeze it open and reach around the the backside of it and screw if the casing. But only if you are replacing it cause it may tear it up inside.

That’s crap. Especially since he drove to your place to drop the note. Why didn’t he bring the parts? Why weren’t you informed of the these changes from ups via phone or email? What the heck. Sorry but I don’t think you will be able to stop using them altogether, vendors choice a lot of times.
