Note to self: don’t ever rob a bank with Joe. Second note to self: don’t ever rob a bank with Dennis, either.
  2. You know I will, Rob. Although it’s still six days out, the weather forecast looks like it’ll cooperate for now. But there’s a saying about the weather in these parts: “Don’t like the weather here in Chicago? Stick around an hour, it’ll change”. Was gonna try to make one tonight, but this has been all day here…
  3. Not sure how many might be close or available, but I’ll be here weather permitting:

But does your elevator go to the top floor?
  5. Thanks, Joe. I’m as tech-challenged as they come.
  6. Yeah, more convertibles than at any of the few shows/cruise ins I’ve been to. coworkers that live on that side of town stopped by to hang out with me and they were all of the consensus that this was a poorly attended show. I’ll give it a shot next month and see how it looks.
  7. Seems blatantly biased on its face. I wonder if/why any animosity exists. I’ll be kickin’ [censored] and takin’ names next year in the event an acceptable explanation isn’t proffered post haste.
  8. First time at this venue. Not a great turnout from what the regulars said. Weather was iffy with sporadic very light drizzle, but it cleared up quickly - didn’t even drop enough to have to dry the car off. So perhaps the forecast kept people away. Some folks speculated that people may be wary of social gatherings after Highland Park on the 4th. Who knows… But once again, guess who had the only First Gen in attendance? TONS of compliments on the girl; people seemed to gravitate to the car. Or was it my riveting charisma and witty banter that the masses found most attractive🤔. Tried to upload pictures earlier while at the cruise, but it was a no-go, so I figured out to screenshot each one and now they’re loading just fine. And check out the last pic…that chick had to have walked right into a fart.
  9. If anyone here knows how to tame a BBC, it’s Dennis.
  10. Oh, I’m sure I’ll place a close second to Dennis if left to my own devices. I often times do my best thinkin’ while drinkin’ 😉
  11. Words, Dennis. Words can hurt more than fists sometimes.
  12. Thanks for sharing! I’ll be there with you all for 2023.
  13. Very nice car! I like you invested cash and minimum elbow grease. I figure my job is to take it out to as many shows as I can and let the public enjoy it Yes sir, Kevin, thank you and likewise. I won’t even pretend I know what I’m doing mechanically past the bare bones basics. I’d rather spend money and pay someone who knows what they’re doing, than probably spend the same amount of money messing things up two or three times before I got them right.
  14. I see the problem. It’s the “MADE IN TAIWAN” part of your quarter panel. Not trying to be a JO, but aftermarket parts suck. I know OE sheet-metal for our Montes is few and far between and expensive when located, but it’s usually well worth it in the grand scheme of things. I even paid for an original Ford front bumper cover for my ‘08 Crown Vic. I wanted it to fit right, didn’t mind paying a little bit more for it. Good luck to ya.
  15. Quite the recognition! Too bad it’s too big to wear as a cape.
  16. That is quite the harrowing tale, Rob. While it’d be truly disappointing to lose the aforementioned pix, it would be completely devastating had this gem be lost in cyberspace:
  17. Just got in and revisiting this thread. I’m laughing so hard I’ve got tears in my eyes. All you guys rock… it’s like I’m still at work trading barbs with and ripping on coworkers who are equally twisted. This place is gonna be fun.
  18. You do know what PETA stands for, right? People. Eating. Tasty. Animals. I just wish I could’ve found a donkey wearing glasses. No such luck.
  19. It took me a minute, then just like “that”, it dawned on me…
  20. Find comfort in the fact that the trophy is probably worth a couple hundo just in wood with the way prices have been. Sell it to somebody building a deck or putting an addition on their house and use that money for some POS 70 parts.
  21. Overhaulin’, overschmaulin’ !! Big Orange gets my vote.
