  1. God bless all the Moms! Truly the toughest job going. I wish I had 10% of the patience my better half does.
  2. Oh boy… sounds like you gotta hit pause and “play the game”, Dennis. It’s in Chapter 3 of “How To Keep Mama Happy”, available in paperback or online. Chapter 7 “Ambiguous Answers” is also a wealth of information. Like answering “it’s different” when the better half returns from getting her hair done and asks you “Well? Whatya think?”. Play nice and live to fight another day. Pull this card and play it when you REALLY need it.
  3. Well look at ya, Joe. We’re not all built like little Schwarzenegger‘s. Thanks for reminding us all of our inferiorities 😢
  4. “Still don't like the look of the top rad hose sitting like that but that's not on the list of things to do lol “… I can relate, Mark. My ‘70 is sans fan shroud after the previous owner added the aluminum rad and twin fans.
  5. Well done Grant! Way to represent FGMCC!!

    Just for a laugh

Yes! Tilted Kilt also had some hotties. I’ve got a few Hooters nearby but haven’t been in years. This thread may just have given me the push I needed to go check out the current talent.
  7. Welcome! Love the Classic Copper. Lotta good people here, but I’d wager you’re already aware of that.

    New Guy Here

Looks absolutely stellar, Joe. And the trunk reminds me of my 92 lumina Z34. 6 disc changer, two 12” subs, a couple amplifiers and a cross over. Flashback to being 22 years old!!
  9. You’re the man, Dennis. Keep at it.
  10. Thanks Doug… I can’t wait to get more time to spend behind the wheel. Work schedule has put the kibosh on that for now, but summer vacation will be here soon.
  11. I found the ad where Jared’s car is listed going across the block at Mecum. Also noticed a handful of other first gens. Any idea how we could find out if/what these cars sold for once the auction ends? I tried to look at Mecum’s website a while back to check on what a car sold for and couldn’t find an option to check prices of sold cars.
  12. One part of me says “congratulations” while another part of me MF’s the dude you sold it to for trying to flip it. I know business is business, but it never sits well with me when people do s%#t like this, whether it’s a car or a property. Totally diminishes the hard work people put into things, in my opinion. That said, it’ll definitely be interesting to see what she brings.
  13. I set the clock in the ‘71 when I took the first drive last week. Was nervous as all hell pulling that pin… was waiting for it to separate from the clock with how it felt, but all is well.
  14. No need to apologize, Dennis. Now had you segued into that corroded line lactating fuel is when I would’ve thought you might be outta pocket 😂🤣
  15. My non-Posi 2:56 CRJ was built there 5 days earlier on second shift Dennis. Curious … is this car VanNuys built? If so, I wonder how close it is to my ‘70. I know these rear ends could've gone to any of the plants, but ya never know
  16. Thanks, Willie. Agreed, two is better than one… unless it’s alimony payments 🤣 That said, there’ll be no gravy anytime soon here as I worked just about all my magic to pull this off. Gotta give it a year or three before I can and pull the ol’ “hey, babe, whatdya think of this color”? trick again (that’s how I introduced her to Bobs SS 😂🤣). And don’t let him dissuade you, Dennis. Look at it as encouragement and motivation for your newest project. Yeah Kevin, that’s why we have to play dumb. I finally have all the materials for the interior redo for the ‘70, so I scheduled the job. When mama bear asked what it’s gonna cost my response was “you’re getting your front room back in a few weeks”, lol. See the attached pix of how this particular room in my house has looked for over a year. And a quick couple of the girls together in the garage …
  17. PS - great pix. The ‘72s were representing in full force.
  18. Surely a clerical mistake. The numbers on my POP vs. those stamped on my engine are off: someone mistook a “2” for a “7”. Everything else jives. So don’t sweat the small stuff. You know what you have.
  19. That’s the longest half hour or so, waiting for relief. I always make my relief at least 15 minutes early to give whoever I’m relieving a jump on getting home. It’s pretty much a forgotten courtesy, especially amongst the younger generation. You’d swear some of these fools have never been to work on time in their life.
  20. You didn’t have to wait as long if you shook/fanned the picture 🤣😂. I wonder who came up with that idea.
