  1. Welcome to the club. Give us a look at what you’ve got. Gotta love those SSs. Wish mine was.
  2. Sorry to hear that. My condolences to the family and friends. RIP James
  3. I would definitely address the cable adjustment/replacement first. That may correct the collar position on the steering column. Also make sure the nylon bushing that supports the other end of the linkage arm that runs from the transmission shifter shaft to the support attached to the frame is not worn or maybe even missing.
  4. Wow! That things loaded. Beautiful car.
  5. Not sure about Flint, but the Van Nuys plant would do their change over in July/August. By late September Flint was on strike, with other plants following suit by the end of October and ending sometime in January.
  6. Welcome Dennis and thanks for becoming a member. Great group of helpful people here. Keep us updated with your progress.
  7. I had heard that within the last few years the accuracy of the radiation had improved significantly.
  8. I wasn’t aware of that. Did all the 71s have them? Mines a Kansas City build and it has one.
  9. Sounds to me like it’s the one, as Rob said that mounts to the.AC plenum and not that carbon canister mounted on the drivers side next to the radiator.
  10. The cups on my 69 Camaro were pretty butchered from an aftermarket radio that I was replacing with a stock Delco. I made new cups using pvc pipe caps. Before shaving off the old cups I measured their depth and trimmed the pvc to the same. I used JB Weld to bond them and also to create a gusset around the perimeter of the cap at the bonding surface. I then blended the inside of the caps with a Dremmel to blend seamlessly with the knob opening in the dash and resprayed everything with satin black. That was 23 years ago.
  11. What are some tell tail signs that a system has been converted? Mine still has the A6 compressor, but it appears the filter-drier has been changed.
  12. Don’t forget the 20 lug nuts. The wheels look great Aaron. I think it would’ve been really cool if GM reserved those as SS only.
  13. For those with power windows maybe, but I’d have to pull over to do that, and I’m not that cool.
  14. If all you changed was the fluid in the pan and didn’t drain the converter then it would be 4 quarts for a 350 and 6 for the 400 with a standard pan.
  15. Definitely seen that before. Was AC not available with the 4 speed?
  16. Joes post on the circuit IQ got me searching. Picked this up yesterday.
  17. I would definitely use a thread sealant on the screws.
  18. To me, this is a pretty important topic. The more you know about it the better. It doesn’t really matter what your classic vehicle preference, the hobby aint cheap. As values increase, so does fraud. As they say, knowledge is power. Why not become more informed to help protect yourself from becoming a victim. I’m sure the hard core collectors hire someone to verify that 2 million dollar Hemi convertible or ZL1 or L88 Vette before purchasing. It’s really a shame to see someone lose their hard earned money to fraud, or find out that what they purchased is really worth less than half what they paid because it isn’t what it was promoted as being.

Welcome, lucky you, good looking Monte you have there. Thanks for joining. Hope to see more photos.
  20. But officer, I was just doing a safety check to make sure I have the correct tire pressure.
  21. Oh wow, I didn’t pick up on that. I was thinking 25k in usd.
  22. A lot of cool stuff on that one. What really caught my eye was the W84 RPO code, additional fuel for delivery. Is that additional to the fuel that would be in the tank to get the cars from the line to the transporters or railroad cars? I’ll bet there’s someone in the club that knows.
  23. A PSA of .50 is certainly a great number Willie, because that’s a number that can’t be altered without some form of medical intervention, unlike others that can sometimes be changed by diet and exercise, which admittedly is easier said than done.
