  1. When changing filter, 3 quarts to start. Car level ( on the ground), in park, idling, let it warm up, pull dipstick, wipe then reinstall, pull back out and check level. This gets close to how much more needed. Try not to over fill. I do the half quart trick to see where the level goes from there. Easy Peasy😊
  2. You should have seen me 2 weeks ago. To get clearance for a shock / strut I had a 4 ' pry bar ( MAC of course) and (2) 90 lb tractor weights hanging on the end of it. I was thinking about if someone came across me about 5 ' from the truck I was working on, What was he thinking😃😃
  3. Yup, still remember you're black eye. What was that from again? I wondered if you saw dancing bananas !!
  4. I'd be waiting on Leo for his response. He has been doing this for quite some time now. I'm sure Jared has been looking at this also. Wasn't there someone looking for these not so long ago? They look pretty good from the pictures. Dennis, have you measured the thickness of them? I don't know if you have a set of micrometers to measure the gauge of the steel. I could do a 101 crash course under the tent at Carlisle if your interested. 😊
  5. Thanks Joe. Going to be giving them a call.
  6. I'm thinking that this will be the last of Mother Nature turning on the snow for us here in upstate NY.Even though it was a less than eventful ( around here anyway), I just hope it gets better from here. Maybe moving motorcycles from my trailer to the garage will give me some hope.😊
  7. That's what I'm ordering in the morning. I checked out leeds. Is that pump for the dodge ? The one they show in products? I was just going to re-use my canister style I've used for years. Not enough or old school?
  8. I've gotten the BBC into the car now. Now I cannot get my drivers side valve cover on because the brake booster is in the way. I have to run spacers under the cover(1/2") as to not hit the roller rocker arms (Comp.Cams Ultra roller tip rockers & poly locks). I see some of you have a 9" Diameter booster. What brand and /or where did you purchase it . I see InlineTube sells a 9" booster. I have already bought the disc/disc brake master cylinder I'm going to install next.
  9. Have you checked with Leo Konink ,Koninks Klassics ? He's in Michigan. Might be worth your time.😊
  10. C.A.R.S. inc.was the place I got my fabric from. Had a local upholstery shop do the deal. Back in '06 the fabric was $95 /yd. Don't know what it goes for now. I still have a yd of it..... Somewhere😊
  11. Had mine in since'07, still looking good. Seems that my 2017 Honda Civic Si are done for. Now I have to replace them. I wonder what they cost !! Going to the dealer tomorrow and see. I'll give you an update on them. As far as new ones for yours ,The Parts Place is good a place to get those from.
  12. Isn't it just amazing on how time flies when you're having fun!! Congrats on the 3 yr anniversary. I can't believe it's been 16 years for me ( I think), just another day on the best place for Monte Carlo enthusiasts to be!
  13. I knew I'd get some flak on green interiors. I do like green on green on green Monte's though !! Wes , one fine looking Monte! Always liked those wheels on them too!
  14. Ditto on the mechanic that 714024speed said. Sounds like the shift linkage pin came out at the transmission gear selector. Bucket seat, console I'm hoping. Mine had an old cotter pin and fell out after I'd switched motors before the restoration. Found the pin on the floor and wondered "where did that come from". Start there, then it might be in the console .
  15. Now that is going to look like a custom interior. Buckets look comfy. Power seats?
  16. Anything but GREEN!! I remember those interior colors back in the day. I know, I know, that is a color that grows on you every time you sit down into it. Mine is a '72 with black, cloth like, but nicer.
  17. Could it have been in with the owners manual stuff from the dealer? I've seen this in other cars When the boys were picking parts in the junk yards back in the day. We'd travel around east coast North Carolina on the weekends when I was in the Corps. Something called " fun" back in the day.
  18. Check with C.A.R.S. Inc. That's where mine is from. I had a interior shop install it . Still looks great after 17yrs! (oh my).

That's not Looks like you have some extra parts for it too. How is the floor pan and underbody? And the front clip? The stuff they cut is all what I replaced on mine.Only thing was the trunk pan was pretty good , just 1 side to replace. I found a nice taipan in Illinois. AMD will be the place to buy the good pieces of sheetmetal for it. Your not too far from a Monte Carlo parts man , Jared Richey in Anderson,South Carolina. He might have the parts you need. He's in our parts resources here on the site.
  20. Ditto on the bulb function. it is better to make sure all lights are right before re-installing dash. Lesson learned. By the way Semper Fi !!

Just want to say, Welcome to the Club!! Hope you have some pictures to share with us. If you have any questions , just ask. I'm sure someone will answer it soon. 3 on the tree, must be from here up north of Florida.
  22. Hey now,Californians are cool. You just got to get to know them that's all. Be there ,done that,Easy Peasy.Out there in Oceanside '80-'81 and also with the son in '17-'21 . nothing better than hooking up with some friends of his and reminiscing about the old days on the beaches of California.
  23. Yup acceleration, rings for sure. I found out the hard way on a motor we built. I cracked the ring on install.OOPs!! I made it right though. Lesson learned.
  24. Christ !! It sounds just like my car !! I like that it does not have the wrap around pieces for the rear trim too. Could I have a taller air cleaner stud installed also? I think the interior was sprayed with a spray gun. They are selling it because of the stroker motor. SS tribute...... Really. Not a bad car from the pictures, you would have to go through it to make a nice'72. Just my 2 cents MC Vid.mov
  25. If going this route, I suggest you get new bearings , seals also. Are you going to give it a try or find someone to set it up for you? I have a Yukon Posi-traction unit in mine. I also upgraded to Moser Street axles.
