  1. I do not have an answer for you but coincidentally yesterday I picked up my Dad's 87 Grand National wheels and he and I went to Summit Racing and got tires. I spent last night removing the old tires from the stock wheels and will put the new tires on today. He has decided to go back to an original look and will remove his Centerline wheels. The point of my story is that I was examining the chrome on them and was happy that they only needed cleaned up. Looks to be a bit of a tricky rechrome if it had to be redone.
  2. I am not but wanted to go. I have my nephews graduation party to go to. Now I see the weather forecast, hope it changes for those that are going.
  3. I have two of those mugs and have them on display on a shelf..I think it is time I put some coffee in mine.
  4. Howdy there, I am still here. I lost track as to how many years I have been here.
  5. Welcome aboard Eric 😎

    Exhaust

Back in the 80's I had mine exit right before the rear tires. I had to use smaller diameter exhaust than I would have liked to get it up tight. Car was jacked up in back so where it exited had I had some room, with your car be lower it would be tight.
  7. I did not know there was a second Monte included, makes me regret not buying it even more. He had basically just finished the build of the car and then wanted a pro street car if I remember correctly.
  8. I was very tempted to buy it when Royce was selling it. He was including a 24' enclosed trailer with it...I should have bought it.
  9. Likewise. Set up for racing for sure but also very streetable.
  10. That one car looks just like mine...oh wait, I was there 😀
  11. I imagine that would work with a higher stall. Actually I can not remember if I have a 3,000 or a 3,500 stall in my Monte. It will flash to 4,000 when I floor it. I can sit still or drive around slowly and blip the pedal a little and the car does not jump forward. I can almost make it sound like a stick shift, lol.
  12. Bigger wheel housing as in fender flare? Definitely can not do a mini tub as the inner housing is just about flush with the frame. You would have to notch the frame and box it back in to gain room. Awhile back I ran 325/50/15 tires and and did use a mallet to massage the inner fender in maybe 3/8" and it was perfectly even with the frame.
  13. I wonder how I would look if I wore it while riding my motorcycle or would it even stay on...hmmm.
  14. Two years ago heading to the Mini Meet in Carlisle I got a flat tire on my enclosed trailer ( had no spare). I had checked them before I left and could not find any cracks in them, they were 12 years old. I checked the tires again and now 2 of 3 remaining ones had cracks all over them...never seen that happen before. Luckily I called PA's turnpike assistance and they got me back on the road in just over an hour (which was unbelievable). Well of course on the ride home got another flat, again PA turnpikes assistance helped me out...they had only one tire left in my size or else I would have gotten the other 2 done too. No tire places around so I continued home and never drove over 55 mph. Learned my lesson and replaced the other two tires along with buying a spare. For the record these tires were always covered when trailer was stored and had the date code on them showing they were in fact only 12 years old (which I know is getting old). Again don't trust on how tires appear...these tires looked like they aged 10 years in 4 hours, lol.
  15. I got those notices nonstop for AARP a few years ago so I finally looked into them but for me there was zero benefits. My brother-in-law said the same thing. It was not what I was expecting, so now that mail goes right into the trash. This is before I knew their stance on guns. Now I would never consider it.
  16. Happy St. Patrick's Day!!! I am part Irish but either way I would have gone out to celebrate when I was younger...now today when I leave work from downtown Cleveland I just hope the drunks don't walk out in the street and get in my way, lol.
  17. I have parked my truck and trailer there many times and will say it is very convenient...no backing up, when it's time to leave you just go out the back to exit.
  18. I am hoping to make it up there. I am very familiar with that area, I cruise through there a lot with my bicycle, motorcycle, or my car.

    Wheels

Below is our Data base link for wheels and tires. Keep in mind an 8" wide wheel for the rear with 5" b.s. will work but the same wheel mounted in the front may hit a tie rod or something else. You can go with less b.s. but then the 8" rim will have a deeper look on the front and in my opinion would look bad comparing it to the back. You would have to get a 7" wheel with 4" of b.s. to make them look the same.
  20. Thanks to all those that do all this hard work...and seeing how they do it on their own time and are not compensated makes it even more impressive. I am glad to be part of this club, been so long I don't even remember what year I joined. The people here are so friendly, we can go an entire year without talking but when we do it was like it was yesterday.

    Cadillac XT4

Helping my Dad awhile back looking for a vehicle we took several XT4's for test drives, super nice SUV, perfect size, not too big and not too small. Plenty of power with the V6. We drove the ones with AWD and didn't know you had to actually switch the AWD on everytime you start the vehicle as it will only be in front wheel drive. Maybe this the norm now with other SUV's but I am used to only turning on 4 wheel drives in trucks (not AWD). Needless to say when I floored it the front end went up in smoke. Ended up getting a Jeep instead, lol.
