  1. I installed this Painless kit a while back and anytime I add something it makes it simple...https://www.summitracing.com/parts/prf-70107/overview/
  2. On a side note I have also seen other cars slowly just drive around the showfield and then just return to their area. Lots of room to move around.
  3. You can come or go as you please with your car parked at the show field, we do it all the time, most of us eventually bring our cars back to the hotel and return the next morning. I am pretty sure the hotel we stay at (Fairfield Inn) is dog friendly. I was even thinking about bringing my dogs at one point.
  4. Check the linkage from the shifter to the transmission, maybe you accidently bumped/banged it.
  5. Mine had a leak above the pan a while back that I really could not really find at first, turned out to be the dipstick tube was no longer seated all the way into its base. A couple taps on the tube and it went back in and has not leaked since. As far as to why yours suddenly stopped moving...did it work properly before the work you did to it (besides the leak)? Also did it run empty at any point while it was leaking?
  6. Never seen that done. You would have to enter the trunk space then exit back out if you were to do that. Exhaust needs to move with vibration...you could not seal it off and water would work it's way into the trunk and sit in the lower part causing eventual rust. How about through the rear bumper?
  7. I mounted a three hole gauge pod (black) also below my ashtray, I used factory screws in that location and am still able to open the ashtray...which I should call my "fuse" tray. I have the slight angle ring on each one so they are more visible to the driver.
  8. Have not seen those, amazing how they still keep popping up...
  9. Sorry for your lost Rob. I remember very well meeting your Dad at the Eastern meets. Very sad indeed.
  10. I agree with everyone out to the side because of the dust. Also it will project the sound better and that"s what you want with an electric cutout anyways...
  11. Not that this will help but I am trying to remember my Grant steering wheel when I installed it...I know the horn itself has 12volts already connected to it and what you are dealing with at the button is the final ground connection from the other side of the horn. When the button is pressed it would connect those two terminal in your photo and connect the ground and then the horn would work. Now if you are missing the wire coming from the horn to that point then it would have to be somewhere in the steering shaft I would think. I could be wrong as it has been 20 years since I had mine apart, lol.
  12. Very sad to hear. I remember when he was just getting started building his Chevelle up to race...his car each time out would get faster and faster. Somebody correct me if I am wrong but didn't it hit the high 8's at one point? Rest in Peace Dave.
  13. Tucked the Monte in the corner of the garage for its long Winters nap
  14. If you are not heavily modified and don't need every ounce of power I would not install any type of cross over...in my opinion you loose that true dual exhaust sound when you install one. If you do use an X type you will have extra bends in your pipes to join them together and then more to separate them to mufflers...an H type is just a cross over joining the two pipe runs together. Now you would think less bends equates to more power but everything I have read in the past pointed to an X type making more power. I myself went with an exhaust diameter so large it did not matter to join the two together so I stopped researching it
  15. I tried to look the part up that was on your original post and could find nothing...now it makes sense
  16. A member here by the name of "Wheel" (his actual name and screen name) did something to this effect. Try searching his posts. He has not posted in a while so you may have to search further back.
  17. I can not remember the brand name of the ones on my Monte, DMH maybe...I would have to look at my old Cardomain sight as I have it listed there but whatever they are they do not make them anymore. I will say they worked flawlessly until a couple years ago at the Eastern meet I snagged my exhaust at that one restaurant parking lot and destroyed one of them. I can still open and close it manually pushing the flap though. I do have a QTP on my truck and I will say I have replaced it three times after it froze up from corrosion...but then again I drive it in Nothern Ohio Winters with salt. This last time I replaced it I applied heavy grease all over it and it seems to be doing okay going on it's third winter coming up. I am sure other people here can give their opinion of what they got. I may have been one of the first people to use them when they came out but I have seen alot more people here using them now.
  18. Okay I went to photobucket and clicked on my signature picture and viewed it...I then came back here and can now see it. That is weird, can everybody else see my signature now?
  19. Ugh, I just now viewed my signature using my computer and now I see my signature here is missing.
  20. I noticed that also and was wondering the same thing. On another forum my avatar disappeared so I went to Photobucket to see exactly how much money they are charging (not that I would give them any) and I clicked on my avatar picture there, looked at it and got sidetracked so I never saw the price...anyways long story short the next time I went to that other forum my avatar magically returned.
  21. Are you running an MSD ignition box...6A, 6AL, 6AL2, etc? Not the same symptoms as yours but my old MSD 6AL would cut the motor off after say 3 minutes and would not not let it restart for a short period of time, then it would fire right back up and run perfect, and then shut back off after the 3 minute mark.
  22. If you do not want to build your own and are looking for a complete one with a warranty then that is a good way to go. I have had my 502 GM crate motor in my car going on 16 years now with it running as good as when I installed it... and I have quite of few drag strip miles on it.
  23. Started the Monte up for the first time this year, pulled it out of the garage to let it idle up to operating temperature. Then put it back into the garage. This has to be the latest in the year to ever do this. Might head up to a local cruise later (Laurel Square).
  24. I imagine it all has to do with where it is mounted. My Holley was mounted behind the rear axle in front of the tank. My A1000 is mounted behind the gas tank tucked up in front of the rear bumper. I can hear it if I run it before starting the car but once I start it I can no longer hear it.
  25. Not sure how loud the black is but I did have the Holley Blue on my car for a while and then switched to the A1000 and it is so much quieter.
