Hey Joe, on the Camaro i like them both, But as old school as i am there is nothing in my opinion as good as the 15s. However on the vette, i really like the chrome, But there is something to be said about the black rims that set me off. Maybe its something about my GN? Keep Digging Baby!!!!
  8. I will probably get another harness but the main problem with this one is, the thick purple wire that runs across the firewall was cut (goes to the starter) and just taped up. There was another thick wire coming thru the firewall from a purple with white stripe wire under the dash that he jumped off of. Does anyone here know why? Unless there was a short in the harness that he cut and taped the outside purple wire and spliced a jumper wire from the purple with white stripe on the inside under dash (for power to the starter)????
  9. Dennis we all feel your pain, for sure. On the flip side your parts look fantastic!!! Keep up the great work!!!!!
  10. Ok great !!!! Thanks Guys, i checked my build sheet and it does NOT have a K85 so the small block one will fit. Tkx
  11. Is there a difference between a 350 car alt and a 454 car alt? I know they have different amps and should show it on the case somewhere. But will they mount up from 1 car to the other? What amp does the 71SS have with a/c? Tkx
  12. Tkx Tom, but then that still leaves me more wires to figure out. LOL
  13. Thanks guys, Upon further inspection of the 350 car there are also some cracks and damage. Not nearly as much as the SS though. So i might as well just buy an engine harness for her. I repaired some on the light harness already. So i would only need the one harness. It doesn't look like the colors are correct any way on the 2 different harnesses. I do have some questions though, There are 2 green 1 with a white stripe on the left side of the motor, where do they go? ( on the 72 custom there was one on each side of the motor, both for the temp gauge. Not sure for the 71SS"s. They are NOT the a/c wires because i have them and put them to the side. Also on the left side there are 2 wires together 1 orange and 1 black, where do they go? There are other wires but haven't cleaned them enough to know the colors, but they are very thick wires. And all 3 sets of these wires have no ends. Thx for the help guys
  14. I think all the ones i have are/were black. I have a question ( i will ask with others in a diff post also) what color is the wires that run that pump?
  15. Steve, how did you make out? I have used on the parts cars. They are all 350 cars. If you need pics just let me know.
  16. I am wondering if a engine wire harness for a 71/350/350 is the same as an engine harness for a 71ss 454/400? This 71ss that i am staring has many loose wires that have no ends and the ends that it does have look to be melted, broken, or damaged. I do have a 71/350 parts car that the harness looks to be in good shape. Rather than cut off ends and reinstall them on the ss i just thought i might be able to pull both harnesses and install the good one back in ss. Also is the coil and mounting bracket the same for them also? What do you guys think?
  17. Hey Jeff, Welcome to the club!!!! Its on the left (drivers) side, with a 1 prong wire. The one on the right (passenger) side, should have 2 prongs. At least that's how it is on my 72. Someone else that has a better memory than mine can tell you why there are 2 prongs on the right side unit.
  18. I understand that the car needs to be on the ground, just wanted to see if anyone else had some kind of measurement in there head that i was in the ballpark with my number. Thanks guys
  19. I remember that thread now. LOL and still no rhyme or reason the collar is on some and not the others. But it doesn't tell me the distance between end of tranny to the front portion of the rear yoke? I measured on mine yesterday and got 57 1/2". Does that sound right to everyone?

Hey Joe, Great job on the new closet. It should be big enough for now. BUT (eventually you will fill that up, and look for more) ASK ME HOW I KNOW!!! LOL
  21. Happy Birthday Aaron!!!!! Start eating that beautiful cake from the bottom up, so by the time you get to the top, You are full. LOL
  22. Tkx guys. Tom i spoke to you first but needed more info, didn't have time to call so i posted this. Joe spoke to you but felt bad i woke you. (believe me i could use that power nap here and there myself). I did get a worksheet from the guy i am going to use but his is not nearly as specific as yours is. Dennis i noticed in the pic that your shaft has a collar on it, not sure if Joe has a collar on his but maybe that's where the difference is? When i did my 72 shaft there is NO collar on it. The shaft i have from the 350 car DOES have a collar. (Strange i think) OK now all i need is the distance from the tailshaft to the flat edge of the pinion yoke. (Total space between the 2.) Again Tkx to ALL!!!
