  1. Welcome to the Club Chris. Looks like you will some fun this Summer.................. Doug
  2. I would select the 2nd option Tom. Attempting to gather all those options for #1 would be a nightmare. Of course without seeing both vehicles, I'm basing my thoughts on both being comparable to each other otherwise. If option #2 has all the options that #1 doesn't, vehicle #2 is more valuable as it sits now. Paint probably your biggest expense and only dependent on how much you are willing to spend. While a good job on the exterior metal repair is very helpful, if vehicle #2 is free from metal repair/bondo, again your best choice in my opinion. Actually, I don't think I would require any more info (without 1st looking of course) than what I have offered. Again, purely my opinion................. Good luck on your selection and nice given a choice too! Sure you will get many other opinions. Doug
  3. I had a similar issue with my car several years ago where my fuel gauge would peg out, especially if been sitting for a spell. The issue was corrosion on the fuel sending unit and my fix fortunately was driving the car. Each Winter during storage fuel gauge would max out and each time I would have to pull out car, rocking forward and back that would free up fuel sender and then work properly. So several years now, it has not been a problem at all. This Winter, car has been pretty much sitting since early October and am wondering if fuel gauge may stick again. We will see. Not sure how often you drive yours but you might try seeing if the Sender itself is just hanging up and can be freed like I did with mine. Just a thought........... Doug
  4. Here comes the latest revision #14 update. I have made a couple updates/corrections to Spreadsheet. Please continue verifying your info to ensure it is correct and advise with any correction(s). Appreciate ALL the info received. Doug 1972 MONTE CRLO CUSTOM NUMBERS REV. 14.0 JPG.xls
  5. Your not just a tiny biased are you Larry.................... Doug
  6. The Latest & GREATEST! Rev. 13 is now available for your review if so inclined. Again, I want to reiterate, even if unsure if in data base, please contact me with minimum a VIN # if possible and a contact so that I can check data base and update new info as it is provided. Again thanx for your efforts ALL...................... 1972 CUSTOM NUMBERS REV.13 .JPG.pptx
  7. Hi Jeff, I also have a 72 Custom I have been logging info for these cars in order to understand just how many serviceable 72 Customs are on the road today. My Data Base has 43 identified to date. I try and get the VIN # in order to prevent duplication and would love to add yours if I do not already have it listed on the Data Base. Under the ss454 Thread you will find at the top 72 MC CUSTOM NUMBERS, my latest Post in that Thread is the latest info and is REV. 12 dated 3/27/20. Can you provide me that info (again if I haven't already added it) including what ammenities, Color and the like to further identify it. You can either reply here to my request or PM (private Message) me if your a Dues Paying Member. Much appreciated Doug
  8. I have the same problem as Grant does. In my case, I believe Norton Anti Virus (my security software) is creating the problem and have as yet found the remedy. Re entering a new password does not fix my problem either, even though I save the new Password! Won'rt matter as I am still required to create a new password each time I want to Post something or reply to something after I had logged off earlier. I purchased a new Windows 10 Operating System Computer toward the end of last year and kept my Windows 7 Computer as there are Programs that I use and aren't compatible with Windows 10 (64 bit) vs. Windows 7 (32 bit). I run both Computers via a Control Station and can switch back and forth from one PC to the other using (1) Monitor. Anyway, I think in my case, when I incorporated both on the same Monitor, I may have created the problem, just not sure how. Not a huge problem, just need to enter a new password when logging on each time........................ Doug
  9. 72 CUSTOM UPDATE - I have 1 new addition and thought I had another but found it to a duplicate. Having the VIN Number really helps me from duplicating listings. 1972 MONTE CRLO CUSTOM NUMBERS REV. 11.0 JPG.xls
  10. If not requiring NOS, I have seen several Postings for the complete lower molding trim less the Rocker moldings I believe on eBAY and think the Clips were also included. You may try there, Doug
  11. Here is the Latest & Greatest update. Still trying for info on one to make more complete but everything found & serviceable is documented on Spreadsheet. I have been reluctantly moving over to Windows 10 Environment from 7 by purchasing a Windows 10 PC and keeping my Windows 7 for some Programs that I can't replace on 10, primarily my photo rendering program. Anything today appears to be for 1 Seat ONLY or by Subscription. This way, until Windows 7 fails, I won't have to be indentured into Microsoft RENT ME forever programs. In the course of moving info across from one PC to the other, I thought I mistakenly deleted this Data Base and did from the New PC, but still had with latest update(s) on old PC. So, I will now make sure it is on Club Site in case I have another one of those moments. Anyway, any questions, finds, prospects let me know. You have ALL been GREAT helping scrounge them up........................ Doug 1972 MONTE CRLO CUSTOM NUMBERS REV. 11.0 JPG.xls
  12. I have heard the 10 Bolts being used with a little modification on the 12 Bolt Rears but can't say how well they held up. Considering this is a Flex/Stress point, I just wouldn't feel comfortable over time and would think twice before lighting them up. They changed the configuration for a reason, right? JMO Doug
  13. The upper Control Arm on the Diver Side Rear has a notch cut into it as clearance for the 12 Bolt. You can notch the 10 Bolt Control Arm but you weaken the Arm. Pics indicate difference. Doug
  14. Okay Mike got it. Nice to see you had joined. It is a GREAT Club with GREAT people and everyone enjoys offering advise on issues other Members have. Thjat info can be invaluable at times. Doug
  15. Thanx Mike. I put the Vin# and a couple identifiers on the Spreadsheet getting your info started. I will see what I can glean from the Build Sheet but looks difficult to read the info. The serial number in the Vin # you gave me is 1h57j2l558733 but according to the VIN # on the Build Sheet it is 1h57j2l548733. The one 5 should be a 4 as shown in explanation. Having paperwork that you can show me with your car's options so I can include them on your Car into the Data Base. That info helps me make sure I'm not duplicating as well as showing your Build. Once updated, I will as said earlier, Post it into 454 SS Thread under 72 Custom Numbers. My Data Base is on Microsoft Excel 2010 and that is how I am updating this info on FGMCC Page. If you have Microsoft Office, you can download this info if you choose into Excel and even updat for your personal use but the Master is the one I will continue updating to the Club Site or simply return here periodically to see how we are progressing. Thanx and let me know if/when you join the Club so I can confirm that in the Data Base. Doug
  16. Hi Mike & thanx for the info. I will add it to the Data Base directly. Can you send me your VIN #, pic of Build Sheet so I can transcribe your info? Once done, I will provide the FGMCC with an updated & revised copy on my Thread (72 Customs) in 454 SS Forum. Much appreciated. Doug
  17. Here is the latest updates to the Custom Data Base. Please look over your info and ensure it is correct and if not listed, please advise. Thanks to ALL for sharing your Custom finds with me as well. 39 Customs identified to date...................... Doug 1972 MONTE CRLO CUSTOM NUMBERS REV. 10.JPG (1).xls
  18. Some mentioned with the Sending Unit it is not just like factory originals and when replacing, the sending unit arm has required adjustment as it was rubbing against the Unit Body hanging it up, if I'm remembering correctly. Repositioning the arm to clear the body seemed to have resolved it. Not sure if you are having same problem................... Doug
  19. The Fuel Gauge ground is in the Trunk of the vehicle. You will find it near the inside rear of Trunk shelf as part of the wire loom that runs right under that inside lip of the Trunk. It is a (if I remember) single black wire near the Trunk Lock pad and is screwed into that Pad with a star washer to secure it if still factory. This ground is problematic if not a clean ground if in fact this is the problem you are having (trying to read your fuel gauge)?. I have had to clean up mine on occasion. Hop[e I am remembering correctly on this. Doug
  20. The Rear Power Window Harness routed thru that ribbon under the carpet to the rear & then across to respective side. Pic shows the ribbon with arrow but not the Harness installed. Someone will likely provide a more specific pic but I think you have the idea. Doug
  21. I like it............................. Doug
  22. and nice ride....................... Doug
  23. Did more investigation online and came up with this U Tube video using water based Tire Dressings. 3 types used in this Video. Water Based Tire Dressing(s) Doug
  24. A few pic's showing where I'm at now. 1st 3 show what I'm after while the last one where I'm trying to remove staining. I will attempt using the Fantastic Spray On (careful during application and using sponge to apply lightly) when I go back over again. If that doesn't get it ALL of, back to the wire brushing. Where I had gotten it appears all off, don't think a Dressing would be needed but likely needing done again prior to the next Car Show without the Dressing. The JAX Products look promising and Micheal, your Car looks Incredible. Again, lots of practical advise and will use it eagerly............ Doug
