    RIP

Jim Brown was born in Georgia, moved to Manhasset, NY (on Long Island) at age 8, where he went to Manhasset middle and high schools, lettering 13 times, excelling in football, baseball, basketball, lacrosse, and numerous events in track and field. He averaged 38 points per game playing basketball. That record was later broken by future Boston Red Sox star Carl Yastrzemski of Bridgehampton, (Long Island) NY. At Syracuse University, he set and broke all sorts of college records, playing multiple sports, including becoming all American American playing Lacrosse in his junior and senior year of college. He is also inducted in the Lacrosse Hall of Fame. While in college he participated in the Army ROTC. After graduation he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant. During his time in the NFL he was a member of the US Army Reserve. He served 4 years and was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain. He was a fullback with Cleveland Browns from 1965 - 1965 and thought to be one of the greatest running backs and players in NFL history of all time.
  2. Great info guys !! Thank for identifying the correct parts, numbers and sharing

  4. Congratulations on becoming a First Generation Monte Carlo owner and member of the First Generation Monte Carlo Club. We hope you enjoy both of them !!
  5. Quite a transformation Jared. Very nice, well thought out and tastefully done. Enjoy it !!!
  6. A bit of preventative maintainance goes a long way with a car trailer. It’s the cost of traveling safely with your Monte aboard. I’m glad to see a lot of members taking the time to do it and hope everyone has a safe and uneventful trip, to and from our numerous Club events this year. We don’t like to give out any “Hard Luck” awards.
  7. Andy, So sorry to hear about the loss of your brother and hope your taking care of your health issues. Sometimes these issues help put things in perspective for us. Glad you made some time for the auction and came away with a nice car. You came out way ahead dollar wise and only needed minor work to correct some issues. A home run for you !! I hope you enjoy the Biscayne and your Gravedigger RC’s too. Thanks for the update and join us as your time allows.
  8. Welcome to the Club and enjoy your “new” Monte !!!
  9. We would love to have you join us. Looking forward to it Jim !!!
  10. Nice find and sleeper Andy !! You looking to make it a cruiser, street car or going to the track with it? I know you have a variety of vehicles. By the way, it’s nice to see you on the Boards. Don’t be a stranger !!!
  11. Business as usual for our 2023 Mini Meet at the Syracuse Nationals. We will keep an eye on any future changes and IF they may effect us.
  12. The majority of various brand trailer tires are manufactured in China. The prior series of Goodyear Marathon trailer tires were too. The new Goodyear Endurance tires are made in the USA and yes, Goodyear did away with the D rated tire. I have been using the Goodyear trailer E rated tires and have been very happy with them. My trailer rides better with them. My replacement tires will be Goodyear too. On one of our prior trips to the Syracuse Nationals one of the trailers we were caravaning with got a flat on the Interstate. We did a pit crew spare swap and continued on our way. We looked up the local Goodyear Tire Center in Syracuse enroute and called ahead. They had a replacement tire waiting for us and quickly got us right back on the road. The Goodyear store manager also gave us coupons for new discounted tires too. Just another reason I use the Goodyear tires with over 1240 Tire Centers (if needed) in the United States.
  13. If you can’t find it online Willie, one of the vendors at Carlisle should have it.
  14. Great info Joe. Thanks for sharing.

  18. Great job in laying out the trim and attaching it Wayne. Nice and straight from what I can see in the photos. Looking forward to seeing it in person at the Syracuse Nationals !!!
  19. Best of luck with the sale of your Dad’s Monte and thank you for your service.
  20. I see you have a 516 area code. Are or were you from Long Island?
  21. Is it a 70 or a 71-72 fender? 1970 is a 1 year fender and 1971-1972 are the same.
  22. Looking forward to it. Always a work in progress, looking to make it bigger and better every year. We will have some new members joining us too !!!
  23. You as well !!!
