  1. What has Pertronix said? have you talked to there tech line? I have that system in my 71 350 and it works great. When I installed it I did call tech line with a couple questions and they were helpful.
  2. I belive its called balck with acqua, pretty sure
  3. Took mine out just cruising around, put a little over a hundred miles (smiles) on it but started hearing a noise and felt a little clunking. After I got home I looked under the hood and the rear shim pack fell out on the drivers side (alignment shims) Not sure why but I assume it loosened up over time. Will get some in there for now but I guess its alignment time again.
  4. Heres mine, of corse mine has been completely repainted
  5. I will be calling it quits myself this year, I turn 65 in oct. and thats it as soon as I get medicare I'm done. Only reason I havent gone yet was health insurance. Good luck and enjoy retirement. I cant wait!!!
  6. I remember that, glad your still with us my friend.
  7. Here's another thought, did you check the wheels for offset/back spacing? Just to make sure they are the same.
  8. When you installed the body mounts did you tighten them as you replaced them or get them all on and body in place and tighten them all then? Did you replace all of them? Maybe the body is shifted on frame a little bit.
  9. Have you done an alignment to the car? if not I'd get it on an alignment rack and get some real numbers. A slight offset in the rear end is not that abnormal but if its to much it can through the whole car off.
  10. 1/4 inch don't seem like much, I'm not sure todays frame machines can pull a full frame like ours or would have the spects to do it. I would get it on an alignment machine and see what that looks like. then maybe if its off then check around frame shops. Just a thought.
  11. Heres mine, of coarse its been about 8ish years since I've had it apart but as i remember it was that goldish color after I had it all cleaned up
  12. My 71 Van Nuys plant was not painted
  13. I used Krylon satin on my old trim when I first got my car, it came out good. I've since then changed it all.
  14. They make the housings with a kinda dish on bottom so it drops the whole thing down a little if you want to keep the 3 inch element. Not sure who makes them but I've seen them.
  15. Finally got under car and found my power steering leak, was only leaking when car was sitting not running. Was dripping out the bottom of the pump. I resealed it a few years ago so I decided to get a new one. Ordered it right from Advanced auto got it the next day and got it on last night, Fit perfect and works perfect now. Now all I have to do is get it cleaned up and ready for the Syracuse nationals next weekend. Oh yea changed the #1 spark plug again it fouled out again.
  16. No Jim nuts didnt come with them, I used the chrome cap nuts on them. The rims are a little thicker than the steel wheels because there aluminum so I'll feel a little safer with a little longer stud. I have found some for the rear and I'll be changing the rotors over the winter so that will take care of that.
  17. For anyone who has never been to this event its a blast. I have been to every one showing a car at the last 12 years, this will be 13 with my monte, this is 20 year anniversary of the show.
  18. I sent them an email asking if the dates were a sure thing and when a person can register, I'll let you know if or when I hear back from them.
  19. Hopefully you wont need that plow on that John Deere for a while
  20. Seems like a lot of work and over kill for my car
  21. Thanks Tom, I'm not going to race its just a driver I just don't want a wheel passing me anywhere. I may take it to the track once before I rebuild the engine just to see what the rebuild gets me but thats about it. I may just get longer studs over the winter anyhow and may be doing some brake work to it too, it really dont need it I may just rebuild the calipers and upgrade the rotors.
  22. Oh yea I know, no pictures didn't happen. Here it is.
  23. I finally got the new wheels and tires on my car, the question is I am only able to get about 8 threads of the lug nuts on because the new rims are aluminum the old ones were steel wheels. Question is is that enough or should I replace the studs? I don't have any long trips planned for this summer but do next year. Any advice would be appreciated.
