  1. I am sure this has been posted before but it is really interesting to watch. Especially when the Monte is a big part of the video.
  2. Kinda reminds me of Harry Chapin's song 30,000 pounds of bananas. It is about a tractor trailer crash in Scranton, PA.
  3. I no longer have it but the 1970 I had was built Aug 26, 1969. I still have a photo copy of the build sheet. I also have a copy of build sheet I found under the back seat on the Monte I sold. It was also built on Aug 26, 1969.
  4. Not sure if this has been posted before. The car is at 16:27 of the video.
  5. Not sure if this has ever been posted before. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5RxBWtGNMEs
  6. Looks like it is missing the chrome trim beneath the head lights too.
  7. It is right after the Bandit buys Sherriff Buford lunch.
  8. Here is one I posted in the for sale section a few days ago. It is not mine, just one I stumbled across. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1254898601377777/
  9. There is a show on the Travel Channel called "The Devil's Road: the True Story of Ed and Lorraine Warren" about 9 minutes into the show it shows a 1970 Monte. Of course it is old news clip. (Edit corrected spelling).
  10. I was watching Mysteries of the Unknown on the Travel Channel. Tonight show was talking about tires andI think they showed a 1972 Monte on the assembly line about 30 minutes into the show. I took a picture of the screen.
  11. Here is one that just sold: https://www.volocars.com/auto-sales/vehicles/16224/1972-chevrolet-monte-carlo-custom

    Vin # question

Look at your cowl tag. It is located under the hood on the drivers side near the firewall. On the left side of the tag you will see a code with 2 numbers and a letter. It will look like 08C (08 is the month C is the third week). 11B (second week of November). This will tell you when the car was made and let you know high or low for your production. This number will align with a month and day build date on the top left of the build sheet if you have on. My last 70 Monte was an early build 08D. On the top left of the build sheet it showed 8-26.
  13. Here is the Loch Ness monster. 1972 SS 1 of 2. https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/chevrolet/monte-carlo/2313821.html
  14. I saw these at a Hobby Lobby in North Wales, Pa. They wanted $40 each. Not sure if anybody is looking for them.
  15. I remember seeing this one at a small car show just east of Tampa 2 or 3 years ago. It was for sale for about $22k then..
  16. I am a big fan. I have seen him in concert 3 times. The best show I saw was his Tour De Force at the Royal Albert Hall in London England. It is on DVD check it out. I did a meet and greet with him in Florida. Really nice guy and down to earth.
  17. Thank you for thet information. I will pull the gear to make sure I get the correct one. Brent
  18. I am about to do the same to my Monte. It is a 1970 with a 350/350TH and a 2.73 open rear. I am running 235 60 R15 tires. I figure since I am changing the bullett out I should put a new speedometer gear in to correct the speedometer. I am having a problem finding the new color and number of teeth I need for the new gear. All of the websites ask for the old color/teeth info. Is there a way to determine what should be in there from the factory without removing the original? I am trying to get it completed all at the same time without making a mess of the garage floor. Any help is greatly appreciated. Brent
  19. It was beautiful day here in Tampa. Highs in the upper 60's with lots off sunshine. So I decided to take the Monte put for a ride. I pulled the car back and notices a trail of some liquid behind the car. Turns out it was coolant. Looks like either the water pump or the hose that comes out of the pump.
  20. My Monte is build number 0963. It was built on 26 August 1969. It is a 350 car. Not an SS.
  21. Although mine isn't an SS. My Monte was built 26 August 1969 in Van Nuys. The vin is just over 102,300. The data plate says the build date is 08D or the 4th week in August. The sequence number is about 22,000 and change. I don't have the exact numbers as I just moved from England to Florida and my papers are packed in boxes. All of these numbers to include build sheet are in the picture gallery on this site.
  22. The previous owner of my Van Nuys built Monte found a build sheet on top of the gas tank. He said it was in a plastic bag. I also found one in pristine condition in the bottom of the back seat. Unfortunately that one was for a different Monte.
