Shawn63
Hey guys,I need some advice I need to get some new tires ,I am replacing 235/60/15 I cant decide whether to go stock size 225/70/15 , or something like a 255/60/15 Do you guys with the stock size find them too tall or skinny? Are there pros or cons to either of these sizes. I have new stock springs on the front and back ,and air bags on the back. Thanks-Shawn
Sam (Bones)
you may not like the 255's on the front, that wide of a tire will pull the front steering around some

Canuck
I had 255/60/15s on the stock 15x7 rallys on my Montes (first two photos below). They looked good but the 245/60/15s look better in my opinion for a stock appearing car. (next two photos) 70 and 72 with 255/60/25 tires My 71 with 245/60/15 tires
Shawn63
Hi Thanks Any handling issues ? Shawn
Canuck
No handling issues with these tires. The wider you go the more strain it will put on your front suspension. the 255/60s on 7 inch rims had too much bulge for my liking. I used to have 235/60s on my 70 Monte but the sidewalls were not as tall as I liked. The 245/60s are a nice looking size and the car drives great. Shawn63
Thanks Guys Radial T/A in 225/70/15 seem to be hard to find right now. Anyone run 215/70/15 on all four corners? Shawn
Leghome
My 72 had 255/60/15's Now running 255/50/17's
Sam (Bones)
I don't think you'll be happy with tires that small
John S
I've got Radial TA 235/70/15 Fit and look good. John
bigtankjones
I have the 255's on 8" wide rallys right now. When I bought my 70. The 255's where mounted on 7" wide rallys and I never felt any issues with them.
