LS5
I see on Hemings there is a fella selling his 1 of 123 produced that year only, 1970 400 small block 4 speed cars. He has a Build sheet that shows 400 small block and a M20 transmission. of course its triple green hahaha what says the rarity on that to command $39,000usd ? How many members have SB 400 4spd cars I wonder........ lol another one for Doug to start tracking...... Darren
Brent C
I remember seeing this one at a small car show just east of Tampa 2 or 3 years ago. It was for sale for about $22k then..

MC1of80
Darren, do you mean the 1 of 80 1971 402 4speed Monte Carlos?
714024SPEED
A total of 839 small block 4 speeds were made in 1970. 589 big block 4 speeds in 1970. 16,595 Monte's got the 400 small block in 1970 but no break down of how many were 4 speeds. I would guess it's pretty rare. But what it come down to is people's personal preference big block 4 speed or small block 4 speed that will set the price. It's like having a real clean 72 Monte for sale at a very fair price but because of the color not to many people are looking at it for what it is ......had to say that lol. Something is only worth what people will pay.

cny first gen 71
Don't know why they didn't offer it in 71. That was a great motor I had one in my 71 Caprice and still have the block and trans out of that car in my garage for some project at some point in time.
