  1. I have new Legendary cloth seat covers. On the uppers there is a horizontal seam and on the back there is a pocket for a listing wire. my question to anyone that has installed new seat covers, does that seam get hog ringed to the springs?

  2. Your factory gauge will read "hottest" because emissions back then had it turned up from the factory. It's the Autometer gauge I would go by. Where is your Autometer sender located? What degree stat are you running? I'd go -20deg.on where you want it to run. I'm running a 180degree and never gets over 200 degrees and has a lopey camshaft.

  3. Summit was a bust as well. That attaining date is an estimate. The sales person said it was going to get pushed back to late August. Binswanger don't deal with the public anymore. Have to be a dealer. HOWEVER, Knocks was a different story. Spoke with Leo at great length. He said he does have one and will find it next week. He also has the ungettable drip rail . He usually won't sell only core them, but is willing to sell as a club member. Yahoo, hopefully by next weekend I can go and get it. MEGA thanks to everyone for their help .

  5. I see I’m not alone with odometer (and related) pix. Here’s my Monte last fall before I put her in the bubble for the winter and my daily driver Crown Vic from a couple years ago when I bought her. Nothing beats a “used” federal LE car driven by a supervisor, ha!!! Mine was department of homeland security supervisor car out of Oregon. Pro Tip: most federal agencies dump their vehicles at 10 years old regardless of mileage and condition. Anybody looking for a Crown Vic P-71 should get one now as 2011 was the last year for those workhorses. Try to find federal examples as they generally don’t abuse their cars like the city boys do. Stay away from K9 vehicles as they run constantly and idle hours are through the roof.

  7. used comp cams in a 454 and was surprised at how noisy it is. I also have lifters draining down after only a few days of non use, this is realy noisy. I called them and they said that is normal for all hydraulic lifters???????? I have always relpaced lifters that bled down that quickly for fear of distroying the cam.

  8. Thank you for all the replies. A shutoff valve has been placed inline on the 5/8” hose off the manifold. No leaks. No warm air. AC is back to cooling the cabin as designed. On to Carlisle !

  9. Many nice cars turned out today. Just a few pictured here. Mine was the only First Generation Monte.

  10. I agree with Kevin and Dtret. Both statements are true. Personally, I would look elsewhere. 396/402 engines seem to be around for sale. Some nice ones also. And since they are considered "undesirable" by the bigger cube people, they can be had relatively cheap compared to a 454.

  11. This message is to everyone who visits the First Generation Monte Carlo Club boards. Our club logo is intended for use by the our club in any way the club directors wish to use it. It is the property of General Motors Corporation and our club holds the sole licnese to use the Logo. The reason for this is when club member Dave Mau designed the logo we used two copy written items, the Knight and the Monte Carlo Script. To use these we had to submit our logo design to General Motors lawyers for approval. Once they approved it the logo became the property of GM and not to us. In the license agreement our club agrees to limit the use and that all use must receive the approval of a majority of the club officers/directors. Unauthorized use of the logo will not be allowed. If you have an idea for a use of the logo you will need to contact one of us by email and it will be voted upon. This applies to visitors and members aloke. If you have any questions on this policy please contact the club President or me. Thanks Rob Peters
