  1. Thanks for this thread. I've been searching for repopped door pulls for oh, about 15 years. Odd that those didn't come up for me in any of my numerous Google searches for them. Ridiculously expensive, but my search is over for them....27.00 shipping, seems a tad high too.😐
  2. The 4th Gen SS was my first love (thanks Earnhardt!). I had an Aerocoupe back in the day and sold it to buy my 72. Came across my 85 around 10 years ago and HAD to buy it. 49k miles, untouched all original and the guy was selling it for 3100.00. I never drove faster to the bank in my life! LOL!
  3. Just gave them both a proper cleaning in the surprisely pleasant South Carolina weather today.
  4. Love that gold. Sometimes I wish I would have painted mine that color!
  5. You should show your dad this restoration series of an 85 Fiero if he hasn't seen it already. Great series.
  6. Interesting that Gen X favors the Monte over the Chevelle. I certainly fit into that category!
  7. I added one of those lowrider consoles from Cupholdersplus. Nice quality and their Ivory color matches the sandalwood interior fairly well.
  8. I built tires for 4 years so I have some experience on this subject. In my opinion Michelin (who owns the BF Goodrich brand) is skipping the part in the manufacturing process where a barrier is installed between the white and black rubber therefore the oils from the black rubber are leaching into the white lettering. Literally everyone else can still build a white letter tire but not BF Goodrich anymore it seems. I went round and round with them on 3 sets of these tires a couple of years ago until I finally gave up and sold them for about a 500 dollar loss. I'll never purchase their Mexican made garbage ever again.
  9. Yep, I use an 80's Monte Carlo SS box in mine and its great.
  10. Mine are 3/8 wide and 1.5 inches from the rim. Personally I think the 1 inch from the rim would look good though.
  11. They have those in 225/70 R15, but I went with the 215 70 R15. These are the 3/8 inch white line Diamondback SS tires. Thanks for the compliment, and good luck with your search!
  12. Check out Diamondback Tires if you are looking for a whitewall tire. They make them in a variety of sizes. I put them on my 72 and I'm very pleased. www.dbtires.com
  13. Wow! What a beauty! The ultimate "NOS" item.
  14. Co-sign on Tri-City Plating in Tennessee. I've had mine for about 15 years now and they look as good as the day I took them out of the wrapper.
  15. After seeing the turbines on yours I decided to try them out on mine. Nice option when you want a different look for a bit!
  16. Man, those Turbine hubcaps are AWESOME. Thinking about getting a set to go with my 3/8 inch whitewalls I have coming to replace my BFG raised brown letter tires.
  17. I bought a set of Diamondback SS 3/8 inch white wall tires to replace the BF Goodrich brown letter tires.
  18. I'm also looking at the Wide Ovals from Coker, but man oh man....So EXPENSIVE! Also looking at the 3/8 inch white wall that Diamondback Tire makes. Just cant make up my mind though... I swear there should be a class action lawsuit at this point with those BFG tires. Pretty much everyone is having the brown letter tire issue now. What size tires are you looking at Canuck? I know our cars call for the G70 size, but those 60 series Wide Ovals are a better width in my opinion. I just don't want it through off my speedometer too much though...
  19. Do not go with the BF Goodrich Radial TA. I'm on my 3rd set in 2 years and the white letters have turned brown on every set. Michelin will only exchange them and not refund them so I'm stuck with them. Never again.
  20. Has anyone installed the passenger side mirror that The Parts Place sells? It looks the part in the box, but man when I saw one installed on a 70 Monte that thing looked jacked up! It was pointed at a weird angle towards the passenger side glass. The guy swore he used the right gasket when installing - he said the other gasket had it at an even worse angle. Makes me afraid to attempt to install the one I bought from there.
  21. Interesting, red walls on the red car, double thin white walls on the blue one.
