  1. Fantastic job Dan! She is beautiful!!
  2. If I get a chance tomorrow, I will look at my brother's 71 SS and count them.
  3. Here is my 70 SS with 15x8 rally rims, 4.5 bs and 275/60 r15s. Plenty of room.
  4. Just installed the ausleys remote mirror on my 70 SS. Fit fine. IDK. How many clips do you need?
  5. Where to start? Lolol. Finally got to work on my 70 SS. Changed the door panels, arm rests, bases, chrome base plate, door weatherstrips, window felts, installed new mirrors, and door handles. Changed the tailight lenses with nos lenses that I have had since I was 19yrs old. I'm 51 now. Lolol along with the horseshoe mouldings and rear tailpanel Monte Carlo emblem and by Chevrolet emblem. Installed the rebuilt air compressor that I got from lastss with brackets I got from overdrive. Both great guys to deal with and their parts are second to none! Oh, and I changed the front turn signal lenses also. Lol
  6. Thanks for the pics! Keep them coming! Hope everyone has a safe, great time!!!!
  7. Hey Jeff. To answer your question.... Yes and no. They will fit BUT you are limited to a narrower tire. 235 to maybe a 255 series. 15x8 with 4in backspacing is the factory specs for the Corvette rally wheel for comparison. A 15x8 with 4.5 backspacing will allow a 275/60r15 with no issues. Depends on the look you are looking for.
  8. Make sure it's a short yolk. A long one will obviously be too long and bottom out. Summit, jegs, any Monte/Chevelle vendor and even junk yard/ auto recycler may have it. Maybe even a local transmission shop.
  9. The 400 will bolt right in. You will have to move the crossmember back, towards the rear, to the holes that work with the 400. You will need the correct floor shifter brackets. The cable is the same. You will need a slip th400 yolk. Most likely a "trick" ujoint. The cap sizes and dimensions are different. You may need to get the driveshaft shortened from what I have heard. I've done many conversions and have not yet. But letting you know. Yes you can use the truck trans, just unbolt the yolk that is there. I have the same trans in my 70 SS. After having it rebuilt. No issues. Also, if you want the kickdown feature, you will have to get a switch, stock or aftermarket for the 400. It's electrically activated as opposed to the 350s cable.
  10. Wow! She's looking good! Nice job you are doing! Keep the pics coming!
  11. You are welcome! We are all here trying to make our Montes better and help each other along the journey.
  12. Yes Ted, that is the part # l gave you. For those seals.
  13. Ted, if you ordered the part I gave you the part number for, in the first post to your question, you have the correct seals. The "70" side bumper to body seals are on all 70s and most early "71s" from the factory. I feel they should be on all 3 years on Monte Carlo. Just looks better with them.
  14. I believe Jared is referring to the side body to bumper seals not the tailight ones you are referring to.
  15. The ticket was punched with the first response to your question. Lolol
  16. Those rubber seals were used all 3 years Paul. Are you thinking about the side rubbers?
  17. Do you want used or new? If new, without looking I know The Parts Place has them. I believe cheaper than anyone else. Just went on their website. They are called, rear body to bumper seals. Part #BP5010M 24.00
  18. Gently pry it off. On the bottom of the emblem there are 2 slots, one on each side of the point to pry from. First check and see if it is an original emblem or aftermarket. The aftermarket has speed nuts holding it to the trunk. The original does not. Hope this helps.
  19. Cool! Neither Monte is mine. Lololol thanks for sharing.
