  1. Might want to check with Jared Richie , club name ‘ Jared Richie’ :). Or Daniel Vega at Vegaazbowties@aol.com..
  2. Have fun, I thought about doing the rear conversion but decided to stay with new drums, shoes, hardware and pistons- - drilled and slotted rotors and new stock style calipers on the front.. also a new proportion valve.. works great, no problem stopping the big beast , also replaced the brake line hose above the rear gears , it collapses or deteriorates inside. Causing rear brakes to perform poorly... ,!!🛑
  3. Now I don’t care who you are , that’s funny 😆!
  4. Do they ever! Where can I order those?
  5. Beautiful Monte! Welcome to the club and enjoy !
  6. The car is real! The headlights appear to be fake but nice addition, 😁
  7. Be careful!. Youl be flat of your back like me. But once you do it once , it hopefully will be easier next go round. Good luck 🍀
  8. I might mention also that I was quite surprised the ribbon technology had been introduced into the auto mfg industry in the early 70s. I was an electronic repairman at that time and ribbon technology wasn’t in tvs until a little later on. In the early 70s we were dealing with tubes and wires. Then ribbons began replacing wires and transistors replacing tubes. The ribbons don’t have to completely open in continuity to not work. Heat caused resistance changes in the material and less data or current could flow.. GM was introducing some high technology at the time , especially in the Oldsmobile.
  9. Good procedure. Yal , had problems with mine when I first got the car. Left turn signal indicator would not flash, fuel gauge everywhere. . Had to replace the PC board also. It also fixed some bulbs that wouldn’t light up..
  10. Everyone and everyone’s brother tell me , at car shows ,,,man! I used to have one of those,Monte first gen, ‘ it was a 72 SS with a 350 in it and two white stripes on-the hood... wow, just like your car.. , I say, you should have kept it! It would have been one of a kind !,!... 🤣
  11. Nice driveway for a Monte photo shoot ..
  12. Looks fantastic!. Professional job!. Just wondering if the steel would have bent a little easier being heated. At least it won’t rust either being stainless.
  13. Nice ride 👍🏻. Any color Monte is a favorite around here. Green is one of mine! Welcome to the club..! More pictures - please ...
  14. Thank you everyone very much, I won’t go into much detail, but these past few days have been a challenge, ... just now getting to the point where I can check the club boards.. Thanks to Rob for letting everyone know... and also for calling to check my condition... although he just had to make me laugh , when it hurt so bad I just you know what myself... hopefully I am turning the corner on the pain.. we just couldn’t get ahead of it.. I feel sorry for anyone that has ,or will have to go thru this.. it was my last option... Recovery will be slow, but looking forward to a great year and fun times at the Monte Carlo club meets... Thanks guys and gals for your prayers.. Isnt this just the best car club ever ! Ron T.. be safe..
  15. Back in the day , we had a 76 burgundy Monty 350 about 100 horse power. But man was it smooth. I just love the coke body design and really hated to let the car go but had bought a 77 ford pick up as well. 👎🏻 unfortunately one had to go and I’ve regretted that decision ever since. anyway, later on I started seeing all these 60s 70s muscle cars around. Got an itch to have one of those.. so I tried out a 69 Camaro at a local muscle car dealer. Yuk is all I could say. Liked tri chevys but everyone had those except the 56. Finally came across a 71 first generation Monte Carlo down in western Ky . Guy hated to part with it , we took a ride in the 71, wife says - if you don’t buy this car you don’t get one .’ Of course I agreed.. turned out it was was 454 SS . First time I drove it snapped our heads back. Couldn’t believe the power compaired to the 76 we had once before. Bought it, brought it home , and will definitely keep it. A gentleman’s muscle car .. love the car, and the club .. Ron T…
  16. Leghome usually wins the trunk category at the fgmcc meets... He might want to share a couple shots.. Me, ? Won’t show you my trunk till after the Eastern meet in Somerset,Ky 😁😄😄
  17. 2 big male birds with nice beards ,probably sent out by their mates to get to go food for dinner 😁.. They would get stuffed in a different way down here in the south... But not I, see them regularly behind the house... Never shot one or eaten a wild turkey... once upon a time in history, they almost became the national bird...
  18. Thanks Sammy, I think the narrow white looks good on the tires. Wanted Red,but.. $$$. See you soon!
