Your welcome joe, I might add, the 3/4 day trip on Thursday of that week to the lake included a stop at-a nice steakhouse style restaurant.. Im sure it will be a good meet in Bristol if that’s where he decides to have it .. He did a good job of setting things up in 2021 as well as Rob did-in 2022 Carlisle.. see ya there . .Ron..

Hi Joe, 2021 fgmcc meet in Bristol consisted of about 3 days.. it was a good trip , a Chevy car show over the hill from Bristol drag strip and beside the oval track.. first day was scenic touring around the area with a stop at a beautiful lake.. I think Jared is one of the coordinators working on the 2023 meet and as of yet there is no definitive news from him on this ,that I have heard... last i spoke with him, in Carlisle, he may have been setting things up for a different car show in that area... I’m sure he will update us as soon as he knows.. I am interested as well... Ron....

A few more pics from Carlisle FGMCC meet.

Thanks for the events link. My observation is that the photographer is young and wants a fiero or Camaro. Maybe a vet. Not much appreciation for the classics evidently. I saw 3 group pictures of first gens at the beginning . The lone red Monte at the beginning was for sale in the back lot . 19,900. If I remember right. Had a 402 .. and a couple pics of dashes out of first gens for sale with the burlwood design. Not a whole lot of recognition as far as I’m concerned.. maybe next time .. if they get a better photographer.. Ron.. -
Congratulations Larry, your car is well deserving!

Thank you willie, but your car is perfect.. !. Thanks for taking our picture in front of mr. Sir Carlo. Would be good to see you again too. Ron… -
Had the 71 -, 7 years. Came via western Ky from Clarksville Tn drag strip..

Here are a few shots I took last week. Sorry I didn’t get everything and everyone. It is my observation the Carlisle events GM show would have been “not much” without the beautiful first generation Monte Carlos. . Would have been nicer if they could have had a first generation MC tee shirt with the Carlisle logo on it as well. Just sayin. Ron… have more photos to add later from FGMCC hotel IMG_9647.MOV

Update to the tractor failure, removed head and associated parts to get there, appears head gasket was leaking radiator fluid into number 3 cylinder and also leaking pressure between cylinders. Appears top of pistons indicate fuel was burning good so probably no block work needed. The rust on top of number 3 cylinder is just surface rust . No scouring indicated.. sent head to machine shop for shaving and valve pressure check ..

Got back home about 330 yesterday to a sweltering 94 degrees. Had no issues tho. We had a great time folks! Made some new wonderful friends, caught up with some from last year also. I can’t say enough about all the good people we met and I thank those who were always willing to help with doing this or that. Thanks to dragcat especially for keeping me morally straight:). Btw. Great pictures Mark 👍🏻 congratulations Dennis on your dancing Banana award 🥇 😆 Also, thank you very much to Rob, CK, Bob, Jared, and many others for putting on a wonderful FGMCC Meet. Ms Monte is back in the garage resting.💤.

but won’t come out of gear
Searsman replied to Lawrence71's topic in General 70-72 Monte Carlo Forum
Also, some carb linkage could have come loose when you put the pedal to the metal ,not allowing throttle to disengage... especially since you were doing ignition work close to that area.. some to check .... -

Alternator issue? Hot to touch? and multimeter ?

From looking at the wiring schematic I think your wires are jumped incorrectly..from the schematic it should be blue to brown, not blue to red... also should be white to red, not white to brown... Ron -
Thanks Dennis, Just doing a little at a time, have 3 chainsaws - and a neighbor left a tractor here to get hay rolls in.. they turned out pretty decent actually.. as far as the 4600 Ford it will get fixed when I get time to tear it down further and probably find a good machine shop if it’s what I really suspect.. I’m working on another tractor to purchase but the interest rate just went sky high... but I appreciate the offer.. fuel ⛽️ would break us ..to transport that .... Ron....

Right Rob, locust are terrible for splitting, woods around here full of them. Sounds like you know your trees. A Boy Scout maybe 🤔?.. besides the others types I mentioned , there are sumac uprooted, cleavland pear broken off.”expected”. But also a picture of an Oak I have er had uprooted laying in top of my one level barn .. . Didn’t cave in thank goodness. Just a lot of cleaning up..
-
Yes Dennis thanks, at least it’s cooler with lower humidity here today
-
Thanks guys, pines uprooted, locust and hackberry broken and uprooted.. lots of fire wood for the winter. If me and my chainsaws hold up . No hurry now really. Got the cattle waterer uncovered at least. See you in Carlisle !.

So first , it rains on the hay in the field five days in a row, second, the tractor decides to give up the ghosts, . Bad luck comes in 3s they say. One more to go. so we come home yesterday after going out to eat and here it is !. Just a small sample of the damage.other pictures would not upload. Cattle were even blocked from water due to number of trees down. 3 hours with a chainsaw helped that. But , we are blessed. Still have a house, pups are ok we are ok and nothing has been bad enough to keep us from Carlisle, yet!.

My favorite isn’t a tire dressing, it’s a detail spray, not sticky, shines good, no yellowing of white letters...use it on vinyl and tires ... purchased at koi parts...

That’s a possibility Ed, but I’m not sure a no fuel misfire due to injection would cause so much crankcase blowback. But I’ll certainly check them out . Thanks. Ron…
