Ran both cars to my parents house to change the oil because the Old Man (meant with the utmost respect) has every tool under the sun. Not to mention oil and filters for every car in the entire family which he keeps stocked. And like every time I’m there for something he insists on crawling under the car to get his hands dirty. No doubt he misses working on cars regularly. Not to mention it gets him out of the house and away from Mom 🤣. He’s gonna be 84 in July. I’ve got the same set up… ‘70, big block, AC, power windows (I’d think this additional weight wouldn’t be much of a determining factor, if any). I’m the guy who tries to bang round pegs into square holes and routinely uses butter knives to remove screws, so my mechanical knowledge is - shall we say - a tad limited. That said, here’s the front and rear spring codes per my Build Sheet. Plug these (‘GQ’ front, ‘BM’ rear) into the Interweb and see what you find.

Try one side at a time instead of straddling the hump and hitting it from the middle. Both seats slid forward for as much room, and leverage as possible.

Car is absolutely stunning. Is that right hand mirror toggle a factory option? Never seen or heard of that before. I’m gonna predict it gavels between 64K and 67K (AKA “Tedesco Money”).

Briefly perused that link. And therein discovered this juicy tidbit which clarifies plenty: It's important to note that not all plants were the same when it came to how information was included on these build sheets. Although most of the blocks of data contain the same broadcast code (letters or numbers) for the same item from plant to plant, there are variations. Even the RPO wording in block 107 will vary from plant to plant for the same RPO. So anytime a question is asked about a particular broadcast code, the assembly plant must be taken into consideration. Now all we need to do is teach Dennis how to read so he can reap all the knowledge from these sources. 🤣😂

PS - yes, it kinda pi**ed me off to have such a pristine Build Sheet pulled from my SS that belonged to a different car. Someone on the line tucked the wrong build sheet into the wrong seat. Or someone on the line grabbed seats (both black vinyl buckets) in the wrong sequence. Well at least I have ONE that authenticates the car and all the options are visible for when it’s time to put her back to stock
