  1. That's why you always use jack stands....
  2. There are a few in "American Gangster".... Including a scene where they're dealing heroin right out of the passenger's seat.
  3. Old Tupperware makes just about any shape, size, and colour you can imagine. And there's always some at garage sales if the wife won't let you use her's.
  4. I went with NGK's as well... Better clearance on small block headers. Tried the "Splitfire" plugs on my '86 Buick T-Type years ago. Didn't see any improvement, and haven't heard any raving reviews on the E3 plugs either.
  5. There's always duct tape...... It fixes everything !!! lol Crazy glue still makes a strong glue.... It's not cheap but seems to work in +35' c heat.

    starter

Is the date code you're using from the starter in the car ???? Or from the parts book.... The starter in the car may have been replaced with an older model.
  7. Should have a rubber cap as well ??
  8. I think you have to own multiple Montes before you get to that level... lol
  9. And they can be finicky to set...... Especially if your carb linkages don't have the right geometry.
  10. If you're talking about the lenses on either side of the grill, they came from the factory as amber...... Being a signal light, the colour differs from the headlamps to provide contrast when indicating a turn.
  11. Sounds like a ground fault in the running light wiring..... Maybe the headlight relays are failing ???
  12. Not sure this helps anyone south of the border, but there are a couple "farm or truck" type gas stations around that still carry leaded fuel..... Usually in the 89 octane range.
  13. Buying online is a gamble at the best of times, but Paul has gotten lots of help from the guys (and gals) here to get through most of his issues. I know I'm glad this site exists.
  14. There are numerous "American" car clubs across Europe..... Getting in touch with a member there would probably help with the hoops that need to be jumped through. But as Mark mentioned, getting involved as a club could raise legal issues.
  15. Another item you may want to check is the turn signal switch in the column itself.... If the hazard switch isn't clicking, it may be worn out.
  16. Crom Cruach imported his Monte from South Carolina to Ireland....... Maybe he might have some insights ???
  17. Is not Ethanol much like unleaded gas ??? Most original engines don't take kindly to unleaded, so I'm thinking the less ethanol, the better.
  18. Where's there's a will... There's a way.

    Choo Choo!

But what kind of burn outs does it get ????

    Choo Choo!

Did you ask if yo could swap rides for the day ???
  21. I don't believe that anyone makes a reproduction piece anymore..... Old G.M. dealers and a few members on here might have one stashed away somewhere. Good luck.
  22. A higher lift cam will always run a touch on the rough side... I've got pretty much the same set up with a 200r4. Except the transmission was built out to take 800 hp. and uses a 2400 rpm torque converter. The only time I actually set the shift into overdrive is at 50 mph+ (highway driving). I remember taking my '86 Buick T-Type into a dealership once, and a couple mechanics were convinced it needed a tune up. Luckily the lead mechanic knew what the car was and told them that with over .5" of total lift, that's what they were supposed to idle like. Performance makes noise...... That's part of why we do it.
