  1. Thanks Brucefor sharing . Great info and resource for the Club members.
  2. Take a bunch of detailed photos of your build sheet and put them away with your title for safe keeping.
  3. Petronix has it’s own high output coil. It’s black too. Just remove the decal on it and it looks stock.
  4. Aaron, Thank you for your dedication to this Club, establishing and running the Western Meets for the last 20 years. A great milestone and Club event for our membership to attend. Upon my retirement I will plan a trip and attend a Western Meet. I hope other members will too.

Schoenfeld makes a good header Larry. I know of quite a few guys who use them and are very happy with their products.
  6. Thanks for sharing Bruce. Good info !!
  7. I kind of compare the Syracuse Nationals to Disney World in Florida. An immense location with so much to do, see and eat. It’s always constantly changing as the vehicles are moving around and you will probably never see it all. You go back every year to see what they have there, and what has changed. Definitely wear your walking shoes too. The NYS Fairgrounds is just under 400 acres.
  8. James, I agree with you. I have 7 vehicles at my house too. I took a paint pen and put a small number on the master cylinder cap or brake booster for the type of fluid that it requires, or is in it. It makes life much easier.
  9. We just have to find a hotel in the area that has enough rooms for all the Fiero club members. Then we can takeover the Fairfield Inn !!
  10. I use State Farm for my daily drivers. I have and use Hagarty for my Monte SS. It is a premium company and rates are priced competitively or slightly higher compared to the other classic vehicle insurers. They do offer additional services that other insurers do not, such as flatbed towing, lockout and fuel service for your vehicle if you want those services. But here is where it counts. When you have a claim how does your insurance company deal with it? Do they have specialty or restoration shops that they can recommend in your area? I had a rep from Hagarty and an independent appraiser come look at my Monte when I had a claim. They were at the shop in under 48 hours of making the claim, on time for the appointment, appraised and approved the claim on the spot and cut me a substantial check to get my claim started. Fast and thorough customer service is where it’s at, and what I absolutely received from Hagarty. Look at other forums regarding classic vehicle insurance. Read about the nightmares others have had trying to get claims settled lasting months, or companies holding up payment. Nobody wants to make a claim, but how is your insurance company going to treat you when something happens? Are you going to get the service your paying for? See what others have to say about them. If your strictly going by price, this is probably not the company for you. Just be wise and aware before you make your choice of companies. Just my 2 cents.
  11. A nice pull with big numbers, Tom. That’s going to be a healthy motor for your Monte !!
  12. Welcome Kevin. As Rob has said, perfect timing to register and get a hotel room for our Club ‘Eastern Meet” at the GM Nationals in Carlisle PA. This is shaping up to be one of our biggest Meets ever. 60 plus Club members and many First Generation Monte Carlo’s will be in attendance. Check out the posts on the Eastern Meet and come join us !!!
  13. Tom, Condolences for you and your family on your grandfathers passing. Congratulations on your marriage and home purchase. As far as your Monte goes, higher priorities come first and as time allows. We’re here for you as needed, either on the Club website or in person at one of the Meets.
  14. Get ‘er done Jim !!! Carlisle and Syracuse are coming up. Looking forward to seeing and hearing your finished product.
  15. Great news and thank you for keeping us updated Rob. Additional hotel rooms have been secured. This is your opportunity to book your room and not to miss one of the biggest First Generation Monte Carlo Club Meets ever. Don’t miss out !!!
  16. Great looking Monte’s !! Thank you for sharing.
  17. Yes, I have and use a smaller system like the one listed below in Mark’s post. It’s small, inexpensive, I use a small strip of Velcro to mount it to the dashboard so I can see it while driving and remove it when wanted, it has has a built in solar panel to keep it constantly charged. A great safety tool to help monitor your trailer’s tire air pressures and temperatures while towing. I also use an infrared thermometer to check the hub bearing temperatures when I stop to fuel up, bathroom break or eat. If one is much hotter compared to the others, there is a problem. Better to find out and deal with it then, vs breaking down on the side of a highway.

    Hello

Welcome Jim !!! You have come to the right place for the First Generation Monte Carlo. Great info, great people and great Club events. We hope you participate and enjoy !!!
  19. Mark. bring the imaginary Monte and unveil it for the world to see. Or bring it Carlisle for the Eastern Meet since you coming anyway !!!
  20. Did anyone watch the Auction yesterday or last night? I was amazed by the prices they were getting for the vehicles. I don’t know if they had all high rollers in the room bidding or it’s the winter doldrums with very little going on. Unbelievable prices paid for square body pickups, Broncos and Blazers all selling between $100-250K !!! Gullwing Mercedes - $3.2Million ??? 6 Porsche’s for $500K-1 million ??? A barnfind 1987 Buick GN-X with the plastic still on the seats and dust-dirt still on it with all the bumper to body filler panels, discolored, cracked, falling out or missing, $250K ??? I believe that auction may have been their largest grossing event ever. If you get the opportunity to watch the reruns, check it out.
  21. Your on Steve !!! I would love to be able to report my findings to you and the Club in 46 years. I would be 104 years old.
  22. Mini Meet at the Tretter home ??? I’m in !!
