  1. Looks like a great project, good luck and keep the pictures coming
  2. the parts place has sets, but I don't know which key blanks they use
  3. I bought key blanks from a Chevrolet dealer not too long ago. Are you looking for keys or the lock cylinders?? When I worked at a dealership, we rebuilt the cylinders all the time.
  4. I hope you got it. Its very tight back there
  5. The bolt on the back should have a slide bolt/stud that you can remove. Take the nut off and you can slide the stud off the radio.
  6. Sounds and looks good Joe
  7. Or maybe check the ground wire at the switch??
  8. I changed to all led and no problems. The voltage should be less with led. I would think maybe the headlight switch. I wouldn't know what you could check
  9. I had mine plated a couple years ago. Brake boosters in California
  10. Not mine, found this on Facebook, is it a member here?? Looks like a nice car Marketplace - 1971 Chevrolet Monte Carlo · SS Coupe 2D | Facebook
  11. Sounds like the problems I had. I replaced the starter twice and thought it might be a neutral safty switch. I ended up putting new h/d cables on, a a/c delco starter and a new battery. I think mine has the battery but the prior owner had put alot of cheap parts on the car.
  12. Welcome, great looking Monte!
  13. Paul, this is what i found: The TCS (Transmission Controlled Spark) relay was introduced during the 1970 model year. This normally closed relay opened the TCS Solenoid to provide full vacuum to the distributor when the engine was cold.
  14. I agree, the TCS controls the transmission and has nothing to do with emissions. I would leave the fast idle solenoid alone and the temp sensor is needed if you have gauges or you want the light to work.
  15. I did the same as Joe. I also bought a set of rubber green mats from the parts place
  16. Wayne, did you or someone change the ac system to R134?? When I got my car the prior owner said he changed the system to R134 so I thought it was all good. The air wasn't really working so I took it to my mechanic and he said the original POA valve wouldn't work and that the system had to much freon. He also replaced the expansion valve. I hope that helps, good luck
  17. Rob, I agree that the bumper looks odd. Also the center emblem is to high but that's not a big deal. I just got off the phone with the owner. He said the floors are solid but the picture looks odd also. He told me that he bought from a museum from Minnesota and they bought a Mecum back in 2017. I found the listing and it sold for 19500.00. He does have all the original parts. He told me he was getting old and his health was not good. He's showing it Wednesday, it it doesn't sell I'm only about a three hour drive to see the car.
  18. Does anyone know about this 1970 on ebay? Opinions? Value? History? I've been looking for a four speed car and this one is close to me. Let me know https://www.ebay.com/itm/144648207639?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=-5NNLGJOQ5W&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=z15ikl8wqwa&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
