Yea may be something to look at, possibly sucking oil in maybe? Is it possible valve covers are on wrong side (just a thought) or something? -
That does look great, good luck with start up. Make sure there is a video of it.

Spark Plugs Oil? Carbon , Both ? NGK - AC
cny first gen 71 replied to snomobeelr's topic in Engine Tech
I've heard stories about running trans fluid or kerosene in the oil to clean out inside of engine but with only 10,000 miles I doubt it to dirty in there. I'd bet valve seals or like Larry found a broken inner spring on valve spring which wiped out a couple valve seals. Maybe try a different brand of plug, I use autolite in mine they seem to work well except the one plug fouls after a few thousand miles. I'd say keep tools and plugs with you at all times and enjoy it. -
There is a speaker that will fit that left side, it was on another thread somewhere a while back. Hopefully someone else will chime in with the spects. It's a little smaller magnet I believe.

How many miles on the motor and on the heads? Has it been rebuilt? Did you do compression test on it? -

Oh yea the valve seals can be changed without pulling the heads but not the guides, it does require some special tools. -

I have a problem with mine fouling number 1 plug also, I put a non fouler in it until I have time and space to do the motor. It's probably valve seals or guides I assume, I have new heads for it when I do it. Was going to just do heads and cam but not sure if the bottom end will hold up so just going to do it all at once. The non fouler has helped for sure with no ill effects, I do carry a tool kit and extra plugs with me at all times. -
Not a bad looking car but you definitely need to wear seat belts or you'll slide right off the seats. I do like the color combo.

I know summit racing does have someone that's looks around at the forums to see what's being said because the guy contacted me after I put a post up about the air cleaner I bought. They made it right and it really wasn't there fault it was the manufacturer that marketed the part wrong so I'm very happy with them. Only actually bought one thing from opg but tried several times and they didn't have the stuff in stock. So I am very careful where I buy from. I always call to make sure a part is in stock.

This is all but the rocker clips.. the auevco 8400 clips work real well on rocker molding. Think this was on ebay but may be available at other sources

I'm pretty sure when I installed mine 10 or so years ago it said to upgrade the coil from stock to high output, I got an accel coil for mine. I don't remember the specs but for some reason 40 k is In my head but could be wrong. I haven't had a problem with it since installed.

72 Monte Grille Available
cny first gen 71 replied to MC-71's topic in General 70-72 Monte Carlo Forum
Seems as though I heard they were ok but it is plastic. I guess if someone in a real jam that needs a grill it would be alright but I'd prefer oe myself. -

I could be interested too but we'll have to see. I tried to sync it up when we took our trip out west a few years ago but it didn't work out. We'll see as it gets closer.

That setup looks a little strange to me, the down shift cable don't look right. I'd have to get down to garage to look at mine I'll try tomorrow but right now not moving g so well.

2024 Syracuse Nationals Mini Meet
cny first gen 71 replied to Montemedic's topic in FGMCC Mini Meets
And probably still won't 😅 we stay right on the grounds from Wednesday thru Sunday and many times will ride around in the evening until we get kicked out lol (guess your not supposed to) still to much to see. Last year I rode around on my scooter in the evening too they didn't seem to mind that. But there's still so much to see and hear (bands in the evenings too) but sure is fun.
