  1. My son in-law came up last Friday and we took ole red out for a spin and it ran just like it did coming back from Dayton last month like crap. Pulled into the garage and popped of the air filter and presto one of the injectors was not firing. Jamey happened to remember reading in his research last fall about the connectors on the Sniper injectors getting loose. took off the side of the Sniper and the was the connector of said injector hanging loose. Put small wire ties around all of the injectors connectors and it runs like a champ again. Idle is steady, IAC is right on target, AFR perfect and response is tremendous. Number 7 plug was also fouled and so we changed to a NKG plug but I think I need a little hotter plug to see if I can keep it from fouling. Had AC Delco R45TS and can not find a R46TS as the are discontinued. The heat range on the 45 is 4 and looking for either a 5 or 6 heat range plug to try and compensate for the fouling as a temporary fix.
  2. Along with the 70 bumper on a 72 for fog/driving lights. I had thought about doing that to my 72 but could not justify spending the money
  3. None can not stay awake long enough to watch a movie to the end
  4. I would go with Cooper Cobras instead of the BFG’s unless they have fixed the browning of the white lettering. A couple of years ago it was really bad, several members got another set replaced by the installer but the also browned out
  5. Ahh the good ole 3MMM 8578 we sell a lot of that at the paint store
  6. I replaced my whole system, tank, fuel lines, pump and sending unit when I installed the new tank for my EFI. I had thought of using the tank that was in the car but its condition was unknown to me. If you are using this system with a carburetor would you need a pressure regulator 58# seems like a lot of fuel. I know my Sniper needs 58# to operate correctly.
  7. Took ole Red out for a cruise and made a couple of stops on the way home
  8. I agree with you on the spouse part sometimes I have a hard time explaining a new bottle of wax. I really had some splaining to do for the Sniper EFI
  9. The one in my 2013 GMC is the original one. Had it tested last year at the dealership and was told it is good. I’ve had my 72 for 10 years and am on my fourth one now
  10. My 70 was built in Van Nuys. I ordered 9\20\69 and shortly there after Flint went on strike and 10 weeks after placing my order it arrived with a bent drip rail molding and a Chevelle steering wheel center. Took the dealership almost a year to get the correct center and order the drip rail molding. The Parts department at that dealers ship left a lot to be desired. It only took a week to get the correct parts after I went in and complained and I was told the previous parts guy never ordered them
  11. I have been using a synthetic clay bar on my DA buffer. Works great but stay off the edges, voice of experience. Griot's has them and a friend picked up some off of Amazon. Here is a photo of before and after, he also had it detailed The car had set in a body shop for 20 years under a plastic tarp. The
  12. After going back and paying close attention, something I rarely do I use my present chrome and slide those into the slot
  13. May have to use my present stainless and install the new seals on them. That is what I had to do last time
  14. They looked like it in the photo should know in a few days
  15. Found them at the Parts Place now hope they get here before next weekend
  16. I need to replace the seals between the quarter and door glasses. I bought some at Carlisle a few years ago and they do NOT have the metal oinsert. Thos ois causing some wind noise and leakage and a driving rain storm. Which vender has the correct seals for our Classics and part number if possible
  17. All of you rich do that kind of thing us po folks do without
  18. I have an S6 compressor and it works great
  19. I love the bolstered look of those Legendary Interior covers. They used to keep my fat butt from sliding around after my wife cleans the interior but now no fat butt but still a very comfortable ride
  20. That is about what color I painted mine in 2013 when we had our 72 redone
  21. I really do not know but When I put new plugs in last fall No. 7 was fouled some. I did learn a new trick or technique today use tidy bowl or some other toilet bowl cleaner instead of the expensive stuff. Learned that form a long time mechanic friend today at the car show where we got another top 30. That is three weeks in a row for Ole Red
  22. Car ran good for a week or so then wham all messed up again. Wrapped the wiring with the tape Gary recommended and it still was not right. The next step was to remove the O2 sensor, it was carboned /oily residued up, cleaned it up and reinstalled it and presto hot diggity dog it runs like it is new again. Hard to believe that one little thingamabob could cause so many different scenarios that kept Ole Red from running. Now I know what to look at first if it acts up again. Also going to get a spare to have with me if it acts up while traveling.
